With Marimar secure at the number one spot, other primetime programs scramble to clinch the second ranking overall.

Shifty and unpredictable.

These two words describe best the continuing ratings game during the past three days, with Marimar as the consistent top placer among the primetime shows.

Tuesday, August 21, saw Iza Calzado and Sunshine Dizon's Impostora climbing to the number two spot overall with a 31.7 percent rating versus Deal or No Deal's 26.6 percent—a huge contrast to its 32.8 percent showing last August 20 when Angel Locsin was the celebrity contestant.

Impostora relinquished its post though the following day, August 22, to GMA-7's news program 24 Oras which gathered a strong 33.2 percent rating, second only to perennial first placer Marimar's 34.1 percent.

The stiff competition between Kokey and Mga Mata ni Anghelita entered a new twist as ABS-CBN's fantaserye grabbed the lead with a narrow 31.6 percent while Anghelita trailed behind with a 31.5 percent rating last Tuesday. Wednesday (August 22) and Thursday (August 23) were also owned by Kokey, tallying a 30.8 percent and a commanding 33.3 percent rating, respectively.

GMA's news program 24 Oras shot up to second place overall last August 22 as it gained a 33.2 percent leverage against competitor TV Patrol World's 24.1 percent.

Controversial Wowowee bounced back against rival Eat Bulaga!, by posting a 21.7 percent rating against the 20.7 percent rating registered by the iconic noontime show. The noontime show trend carried on until Wednesday, August 22, with Willie Revillame's show once more taking the lead with a 20.5 percent clip while Eat Bulaga! registered a 20.3 percent rating.

It was an entirely different story last Thursday, August 23, as Eat Bulaga! once more took the driver's seat through its 23.1 percent rating followed by Wowowee's 20.9 percent.

In the battle of daily morning talk shows, ABS-CBN's Boy & Kris edged out GMA-7's SIS last Tuesday (13.1 percent vs. 12.5 percent) and Wednesday (12.8 percent vs. 11.9 percent). But last Thursday, SIS got the upperhand with 13.3 percent against Boy & Kris' 12.6 percent.
