Actress Gretchen Barretto clarified rumors that her longtime partnership with business tycoon Tonyboy Cojuangco is now kaput. "I'm not separated," Gretchen said in a text message to GMA News reporter Lhar Santiago. "I will stay with Tony till the end of time."

Though she took it coolly, it was still evident that Gretchen Barretto was alarmed by the growing rumor that she and her partner, businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco, have already separated.

Last Tuesday, December 18, entertainment columnist-host Lolit Solis wrote in her columns in PM and Pilipino Star Ngayon about the buzz getting louder around tinseltown that all's not well between the high-profile couple.

Also according to rumor, the cause of the reported split was a third party, although it's unclear whether the problem was on Tonyboy's end or Gretchen's.

GRETA'S TEXT MESSAGE. To set the record straight, columnist Abu Tilamzik of Abante Tonite reported today that Gretchen recently made a phone call to GMA-7 reporter Lhar Santiago while the latter was in the middle of a press conference for Banal.

Lhar passed his cell phone to Lolit who was also present during the presscon. Gretchen then clarified to Manay Lolit that there's no truth to the rumor and that she and Tonyboy are still very much together.

The conversation, according to Tilamzik, turned out well and both parties were in good spirits.

To make sure that her side would be properly addressed, Gretchen sent a text message to Lhar saying: "I'm not separated. I will stay with Tony till the end of time. Our relationship has its flaws, just like everyone else's.

"We continue to understand the unexplainable. That, to us, is what commitment and unconditional love is all about. Only a few are blessed with such."
