“I almost had a bad experience, almost,” pag-amin ni Gemma, 77, sa podcast ng Flipping the Narrative noong July 10, 2021.

Sabi ni Gemma, “You know, there’s always some rich businessman who wants to get his nasty finger in there.

“And then… so one of them, I will not name, of course...”

May isang mayamang businessman daw ang sinabihan siya noon ng “Oh, you know, I can really help you.”

Sagot daw ni Gemma, “Oh, really? Well, thank you very much.”

Pagpapatuloy ng beauty queen, “So, he said, ‘Where do you live?’ So, I gave him my address.

“Aba, he arrived!”

“He rang the door and then I opened the door. I opened the gate, actually.

“And then I opened it wide open. And then he sort of pulled it, so that his driver will not see who he is visiting.

“Okay, so I let him in.”

“We walked across the garden, and then into the house, and then into the living room.

“And he was probably, well, I’m sorry to say, maybe he was probably shocked or surprised that I was living in a house like that.

“I mean, we’re not a rich family, but in our house, we had paintings owned by my stepfather, who had two, like, Juan Lunas."

Pagpapatuloy ni Gemma tungkol sa nagulat na negosyanteng bumisita sa kanyang bahay, “Maybe he didn’t even recognize it, but there were paintings on the wall.

“There was a small library. Maybe he didn’t expect that, ‘no.”

Saad niya, “So, okay, after a brief conversation, he said goodbye. And I never saw him again.

“I never saw him again, but I heard that he would try to be there in those beauty contests.

“But he must be close to 100 years old now.”

Pilipinas-World 2008 Janina San Miguel.
