Singer-actor Ronnie Liang adds another feather to his cap as he joins the Philippine National Police’s Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group’s Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PNP IMEG-AGPTD).
Ronnie took his oath as a council member of PNP IMEG last Friday, November 5, 2021. He took to Instagram to share some photos and videos from the ceremony.
The IMEG-AGPTD is composed of highly accomplished individuals "chosen for their integrity, probity, and leadership."
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), coursed through his publicist Josh Mercado, Ronnie expressed his gratitude towards PNP-IMEG for inviting him to be part of the advisory council.
Ronnie told PEP.ph, "I was invited din to be a member of the IMEG and isang malaking karangalan and privilege to be a member of the said council representing the youth and the entertainment sector."
RONNIE'S ROLE IN IMEG-AGPTD
Ronnie gave details about his duties as a council member of PNP's IMEG-AGPTD.
The "Ngiti" singer explained, "Ang isang member po ng advisory council usually ay nagbibigay ng guidance, insights and innovative ideas to ensure a genuine transformation of the law enforcement agency, which is the PNP.
The Sing Galing "Jukeboss" said he will also be able to put everything he learned from his master's degree to the test by participating in the council.
Ronnie first revealed on Instagram last August 10, 2021, that he enrolled at Philippine Christian University to get his master's degree in Management, major in National Security Administration.
RONNIE'S PASSION FOR PUBLIC SERVICE
Ronnie said his passion for public service has always been the main reason why he continues to volunteer for government agencies.
Since the country imposed lockdowns in March 2020 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Ronnie got himself occupied by volunteering for the Philippine Army's pandemic efforts including manning checkpoints, providing free rides to essential workers, and many others.
Although Ronnie has been busy with his public service advocacy, the singer said quitting showbiz is not part of his plans.
He said, "I am not quitting showbiz. Our show sa TV5 always receives positive comments.
It’s just that I do everything now with purpose.
"What is it really that I offer to people, ‘yan ang mahalaga sa akin. Nung nagpunta ako sa Sulu, another humbling experience yun.
"I met kind and welcoming people there.
Ronnie is now busy producing his own music and serving as a videoke game show judge for TV5's Sing Galing, which airs every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
