On Saturday, November 5, 2022, the beauty queen known as "Hipon Girl" took to Instagram to express her distress over the late arrival of some of her baggage at the Entebbe International Airport.

She dreaded, "Nakakaiyak at sobrang lungkot ng Hipon Girl niyo. Ang National Costume mukhang nadisgrasya po ng Airlines."

Herlene explained that before the boarding, the airline staff approached her team about the huge baggage.

"Pagdating ng Airport ayaw ipakarga kesyo oversize daw. Then No Choice na rin kami at hinayaan na lang namin chinop-chop nila at binaklas buong box.

"Ang masaklap yung pinaka-body ng costume hindi nakarating ng UGANDA."

They got stranded at the airport, waiting for the rest of the baggage to arrive.

She continued, "buong araw na kami asa airport at tinengga oras namin at pinangakuan kami na darating ng gabi. pero 2:30 a.m. na at wala na silang paramdam."

The mishap came as a total shock to the 23-year-old beauty queen, who, during her departure, was over the moon as she raised and waved the Philippine flag at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and asked her "KaSquammy, KaHiponatics at KaBudol" to cheer for her.

In another Instagram post, Herlene posted a photo of her and manager Wilbert Tolentino beaming in high spirits because their seats en route to Entebbe, Uganda were upgraded upon arriving at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia—their next stop after Manila.

Herlene is all set to vie for the Miss Planet International 2022 title, to be held on November 19, 2022, in Kampala, Uganda.
