The cancellation of the K-pop concert billed Awake: A New Beginning in Cebu has left Sandara Park "sad" and "disappointed."

Sandara, also known as Dara, expressed her thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) following the announcement.

The concert was scheduled to take place on September 23, 2023, at the City Di Mare event grounds in South Road Properties in Cebu City.

Organizers, however, announced on Friday, September 15, 2023, that they are postponing the event because of "unforeseen circumstances" and "unpredictable weather condition."

Other K-pop acts listed to perform at the concert were AB6IX, Viviz, Younite, 1MILLION, and MB Crew.

Writing on X, Sandara said she feels "sorry" for her fans and that she was "disappointed with what happened."

The Star Circle Quest alum and former 2NE1 member shared to her followers that she was preparing earnestly for the concert.

"But there is always next time so pls I hope you guys are ok and don’t forget I’ll always be here for my Daralings and Blackjacks. #staystrongdara #staystrongdaralings,” said Sandara on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Daralings and Blackjacks refer to Sandara's fan base.

It didn't help that Sandara's other work commitments were not pushing through as well, adding to her frustration.

She lamented, “And I’m not going to PFW [Paris Fashion Week] this year. I was supposed to be in other country for work end of this month but unfortunately, it just got canceled too. what is happening.. my god. So it is already too late to prepare for Paris. What a bad timing."

Sandara continued, sounding dejected, “There is always ups and downs in life.

"Honestly, I’m not feeling good but how much more Daralings and Blackjacks feel…. U guys are always happier than me during my good times and more sad and hurt during my bad times."

Sandara then sounded optimistic, remarking, "But there’s a rainbow always after the rain. I love you guys."

In the end, Sandara remarked that she enjoys performing on stage more than gracing fashion events.

"I was really excited to meet my fans onstage again in different cities. Hoping for more shows in the future. We are still young!!!."

Meanwhile, many fans sympathized with Sandara and assured her that "some things are not just meant to be" and they will wait for her to perform once again in the country.

Some fans blamed the organizers, calling them "irresponsible" and advised Sandara to work with a "trusted" team next time.
