"It's not just making a connection. It's making an impact in anybody. I don't want to be remembered by just what I sang and danced. After that kasi, makakalimutan ka na nila. It's more of the impact which I create," says Gary Valenciano about his obsession to affect people with his performances.

"I have already finished with 40 kilometers, pinupulikat na ako, and everything, pero kinakaya ko pa rin.

AFFECTING PEOPLE. Aside from mountain biking, isa pang obsession ni Gary ay yung nakikita at nararamdaman niya ang reaksyon ng mga manonood sa kanyang performances, things which have to do with spirituality.

"If I can only let the press people look in a box while I perform, and see the faces of the people watching my show, and they will know what they're saying through their eyes.

"Gusto kong gawin yun, and when I am singing a song about God, 'tapos, mayroong mga tao sa audience who will hold the hand of the person beside them, that's a personal obsession of mine, yung nararamdaman ko yung ganoon," nangingiting sabi pa ni Gary.

Ang gusto lang ni Gary, matugunan ang pangangailangan ng isang tao, at that time of their need, through what he's doing, without sounding hard-sell.

"Like when I sing in wakes, people there are most open to hearing things that will encourage. I sing a song, and people come up to me and talk about their lives, and not about the person who died.

"I would like to hear a song that speaks to me. Iba na rin ang mga kabataan ngayon, because what they consider as best friends are their iPods. They want to listen, they want music. So, I can convey those messages through that.

"It's not just making a connection. It's making an impact in anybody. I don't want to be remembered by just what I sang and danced. After that kasi, makakalimutan ka na nila. It's more of the impact which I create," dugtong pa ni Gary.

MORE GARY MOVIES. For one thing, humina talaga ang movie industry.

"I am writing something for a film," sabi pa niya. "Do you think na-miss talaga ako ng mga tao sa movies?

"Sana lang, matapos ko yung script before the end of my 25th year. Matatapos yun sa March of next year. If I can finish that, well, then, I will start working on it.

"I'm open to do movies than television.
