Matapos ang matagal ng pamamahinga ni Derek Ramsay sa showbiz ay muli siyang nakapanayam ng entertainment press.
Dumalo ang aktor sa event sa Solaire noong Linggo, October 28, para sa launch ng RED (Rising Era Dynasty) kunsaan business partner ni Derek sina John Estrada at Priscilla Meirelles.
Pumirma na ba si Derek ng kontrata with GMA-7?
Ani Derek, “We just had a talk, we got to know each other. They're really, really nice, I got to meet them with my parents. We did a little negotiation about things.
"I told them na sana next year na mag-umpisa if ever, kasi I want to set my mind na kapag may commitment ako sa inyo ay gusto kong ibigay ang 200%. E, ang dami kong ginagawa ngayon."
Sino ang mga gustong makatrabaho ni Derek sa GMA-7?
“Kahit sino! Alam niyo naman ako, I work with anyone, I’ve never been the type of person na namimili ng katrabaho. I’d like to work with anyone.
"Of course, I want to work with Jennylyn [Mercado] again, nakapagtrabaho na kami together sa mga movie, our experience together is wonderful.
"We did two great movies together, hopefully that’s not the last, kasi every other year ako gumagawa ng movie sa MMFF," pagtukoy niya sa Metro Manila Film Festival.
"I hope next year siya yung leading lady ko uli.”
May conflict pa ba with TV5 or tapos na ba ang contract niya doon?
“My contract with TV5 was over last April pa, its been a while actually.”
What will be his next project?
“Currently may ginagawa akong movie with Jessy Mendiola, that’s almost done, may one shooting day pa lang kami. She’s cool, she's really awesome, she's a brilliant actress.
"Hindi halata sa kulay nya na mahilig pala siya sa outdoors. She’s goes diving a lot with Luis. There’s a love scene, pero nauso ngayon ang action kaya this movie has a lot of action. Mahilig si Direk Enzo Williams sa action kaya maraming action scenes dito."
Nanghinayang ba siya na nawala ang entertainment shows ng TV5?
“Yeah! I spent 6 years there, that’s the same length I spent with ABS-CBN.
"They became my family. I'm sad na nawala but I said no regrets because I enjoyed my stay tremendously with TV5. They've been all good to me.
"The separation was okay. They decided to go a different route, which is sports, which is also my interest.”
May offer din ba siyang nakuha mula sa ABS-CBN?
“We sat down with ABS-CBN, I think that was during my contract was still up with TV5 to iron out everything out with ABS-CBN. I love that they gave me that respect kahit naka tie up ako with TV5.
"They gave me that respect also na I want to sit down and talk to you guys to finally clear out whatever it is that happened and it was a great meeting.
"Medyo matagal yung meeting namin, nilabas nila yung kanilang sama ng loob at nilabas ko rin yung sa akin and at the end of the day we all were there and we miss each other at nagawa ko agad yung Kasal with Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino.
"After that Kasal, I took a break. 'Eto na yung nalaglag na blessing sa 'kin. Yung offer nga with GMA-7, nakadalawang meetings na kami and both meetings are really enjoyable. Yung first meeting very casual lang kasi first time ko sila ma-meet, ang bilis lumabas nung istorya.
"Yung second meeting was more casual, mas open na kami sa meeting at hindi na kami nakatago sa isang room. Ayun, we’re just waiting!”
