Kris Aquino says the Philippines is not yet ready for same-sex marriage. However, a couple of the same sex should have the option to be in a civil union.

“So, ako, ang sinasabi ko, I believe in love and I also believe in monogamy.

“So, sana kung yun ang choice mo [dapat stick to one].

“Malaking isyu ‘yan talaga right now.

“I don’t think we are prepared.

“We are not America.

“Ako naman, gusto kong mabigyan ng karapatan as far as inheritance is concerned, yung civil union.

“Civil union only because for partners who have been together, nagpundar together for so many years, tapos, di ba, hindi mo pwedeng iiwan sa kanya.

“Puwede sa will [and testament], pero legally wala nang habol and all. E, nagmahalan naman talaga.”
