Is there a rift between Marian Rivera and Andrea Torres?
Marian is considered the Kapuso primetime queen, while Andrea is seen as a sexy leading lady in the same network.
Andrea and Marian are both prime talents of Triple-A Management, a company headed by Antonio Tuviera, aka Mr. T.
Last March 13, PEP carried a story about an incident backstage during the March 12 live episode of Sunday Pinasaya.
The incident, which was reported to us by a network insider, reportedly involved the two ladies who chanced on each other backstage.
Marian is said to have snubbed Andrea.
The source said that Andrea was clearly heard saying “Hi” to Marian, but that Marian was clearly heard answering, “Ewwwww.”
Andrea’s mom, the source added, saw how Marian had put down her daughter, so she called out the actress with, “Hoy!”
But Marian continued walking and disappeared into the dressing room.
The whole thing, the source said, happened very fast. The next thing anyone saw was Andrea crying in the pantry.
However, the incident took on a life of its own because, before this, there were already whisperings within GMA-7 that Marian had confronted Andrea on the set of the network's now-defunct show, Alyas Robin Hood.
The confrontation was never confirmed, after the camp of Marian kept its silence while the camp of Andrea studiously kept saying there was no problem.
If the confrontation did happen, what could be the reason? Jealousy, said our source.
Marian's husband, Dingdong Dantes, and Andrea worked together as the lead stars of Alyas Robin Hood.
And if the snubbing incident did happen, what could be the reason for that? Again, jealousy, said the same source.
ANDREA SPEAKS UP. At a recent event, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Andrea about the issues hounding her today.
Andrea answered, laughing, “Alin po dun? Ang dami po nun, e!”
When PEP asked her more directly about the supposed snubbing incident involving Marian, Andrea was taken aback.
Calling back her wits, she said, if hesitantly: “E, ano na po… ayoko na po…
"Wait lang, call a friend.
“Huwag na po nating pag-usapan yun.
“Di, huwag na yun, okay na yun. Wala, walang issue.
“Di, wala po, wala po. Wala po yun.”
PEP.ph is open to Marian's side of this story.
