Alden Richards said he and Maine Mendoza surpassed a lot of challenges together since they became a love team.
Their phenomenal love team, known as AlDub or Alden and Yaya Dub, started in Eat Bulaga’s “Kalyeserye” segment, which ran from July 2015 to December 2016.
In his thank-you speech at his Upsurge concert, Alden said, “Si Maine, kaming dalawa po, ‘kita niyo naman, on and off cam, very transparent po kaming dalawa.
“Nakikita niyo kapag okey kami, nakikita niyo po kapag meron kaming samaan ng loob.
“Kasi siguro yun po talaga yung characteristics and yun po talaga yung ipinapakita ng totoong tao.
“Na walang pagpapanggap, na hindi ginamit ang show business, hindi ginamit ang fame, hindi ginamit ang kasikatan para baguhin ang mga sarili nila.”
Alden gave this speech before his production number with Maine at his sold-out Upsurge concert.
The concert was held at Kia Theater in Cubao, Quezon City, last Saturday night, May 27.
HOW THEY BECAME CLOSE. In a separate audio-visual presentation, Alden also recalled how he and Maine grew close after working together in two movies, one TV series, and a daily noontime show.
He related, “Siya, new sa showbiz, and then ako, medyo matagal na. Medyo sobrang laki ng adjustments namin sa isa’t isa.
“Yung mga experiences namin, yung mga naranasan namin together on and off cam, yun ang nagpapatatag sa amin up to this point.
“Ang dami naming natutunan sa isa’t isa and natutunan sa mga bagay na nangyayari sa amin.
“And we’re really stronger together.”
Alden did not forget to thank his Eat Bulaga! family for making him part of the Kapuso noontime show, produced by TAPE Inc.
He particularly mentioned TAPE Inc. executives Tony Tuviera and Malou Choa-Fagar, as well as "Kalyeserye" creator Jenny Ferre.
The Pambansang Bae also expressed his gratitude to AlDub Nation or the multitude of fans of his teamup with Maine.
At the latter part of his concert, Alden said that their solid fans is the greatest blessing he ever had.
