Solenn Heussaff reminds fans of love teams: "Let's love the couple on-screen, but also respect them as individuals off-screen."

In her years in showbiz, Solenn Heussaff has not had the experience of having a love team.

However, she is aware how it goes and has a few observations.

Solenn relates her thoughts about love teams in her recent post on her website.

“Being in a love team can be hard,” the 32-year-old actress-TV host said.

Although the actors in a successful love team are given more opportunities, there are disadvantages.

Solenn pointed out how two actors in a love team are being limited to further develop their acting skills.

She said, “Before actors are coupled in a love team, they’re actors first. That’s their job.

“And as an actor, you want to be able to do different kinds of roles.

“You want to act with different people, because you learn from every new person you act with.”

She added, “But when your love team is too strong and you get a job where you have to act with someone else or you have to be the love interest of a different person, someone gets attacked.”

She also stressed that when two actors try hard to portray themselves as a couple, both onscreen and in real life, they tend to “lose a sense of who they are.”

Solenn wrote, “Mean things are said to the actors involved, especially in social media.

“Sometimes, it even gets to the point when the actors in the love team lose a sense of who they are.

"Because they’re trying so much to portray themselves as a couple both on-screen [which is okay] and in real life [which is not okay if it’s being forced on them].”

WHEN TO DRAW THE LINE. The All Star Videoke host also talked about fans “who knowingly and unknowingly” limit their favorite actors in a love teams from improving their talents.

Solenn said, “When you’re a fan, you want whoever you’re supporting to always be better.

“To do better, to learn more, to spread his or her wings.

“This feeling isn’t even limited to just showbiz.

“If there’s someone you genuinely care about in your personal life, you always encourage that person to pursue their dreams and you feel happy when they finally get to do it. Right?

“Sadly, there are fans who knowingly or unknowingly cut the wings of the actors they support by limiting their roles and keeping them from making the most out of other opportunities.”

On the other hand, Solenn acknowledges, "We all know that there are instances when the actors in a love team actually fall for each other. That’s great.

“There are also times when they work well together, but have different personal lives apart from each other. And that's also great.” she wrote.

Solenn reminded fans that their favorite actors in a love team “are still human.”

“They feel, get angry, dream, and cry. They’re real people who are only doing their jobs,” she stressed.

She also advised fans to “take a step back and see if we are really loving the love team we claim to love and support.

“Are we polluting social media with so much unnecessary attacks and hate?

“Why don’t we use it to share support and inspiration instead? We can also draw lines.”

In the end, Solenn emphasized that it's still all about respect.

“Let’s love the couple on-screen, but also respect them as individuals off-screen.

“We can love the work that they do as actors, and still support their individual lives.

“Let’s make love teams what they’re supposed to be about. Love.”

MAINE'S OPEN LETTER. Solenn's posted about love teams on her online journal days after Maine Mendoza wrote an open letter to her fans on Twitter.

In this open letter, the other half of the phenomenal AlDub love team made mention of “entitled” fans.

Maine said, “Do not get me wrong, I am thankful for everything I have right now. And I have the Lord and the people who helped and supported me along the way to thank for that.

“I just could not take how some people feel so entitled in so many things, hindi lang sa career, ultimo personal na buhay.”

“Minsan nga tinatanong ko ang sarili ko, sino ba talaga ang gumawa sa akin? Ang Diyos ba o sila?

"Pagmamay-ari ba nila buong pagkatao ko para diktahan ako sa halos lahat ng bagay? Bakit ganun?

"Ganun ba dapat kapag mahal mo yung tao? Susubukan mong kontrolin ng naaayon sa kagustuhan mo? Dahil tingin mo yun yung tama? Dahil tingin mo doon siya liligaya?”

In the same letter, Maine revealed that she and Alden are just friends and a love team.
