Julia Barretto defends I Love You, Hater co-star Kris Aquino: "She did not ruin the movie."

Julia Barretto defends Kris Aquino from netizens blaming Kris for the "disappointing" box-office results of their movie I Love You, Hater.

Ipinagtanggol ni Julia Barrteto ang co-star niya sa pelikulang I Love You, Hater na si Kris Aquino dahil sa paninisi ng iba sa “disappointing” box-office turnout ng kanilang pelikulang palabas ngayon sa mga sinehan.

Pinagbibidahan nina Kris, Julia, at Joshua Garcia ang pelikula na ipinrodyus ng Star Cinema, ang film outfit ng ABS-CBN.

Nagbukas ang I Love You, Hater noong Miyerkules, July 11.

Ayon sa Star Cinema, tinatayang kumita ito ng PHP40 million sa loob ng limang araw.

Inamin naman ni Kris sa isang Instagram post na “disappointed” siya sa initial box-office results at inako ang responsibilidad na siya ang sisihin sa magiging kabuuang kita ng pelikula.

Isang mahabang open letter ang ipinost ni Julia sa Instagram ngayong Martes ng hapon, July 17.

Inilahad niya ang mga hamong pinagdaanan sa paggawa ng pelikula, kasama ang buong staff and crew.

“We made a movie to add positivity to people's lives and make them feel that they're not alone. We are not going to allow any kind of negativity to lurk around our film,” bahagi ng post ng aktres.

An open letter— In my whole journey as an actress, more often I was doubted, I was judged, I had to deal with scrutiny from people who did not know me, who made me suffer the consequences of the mistakes I did not commit and people did not give me a chance. People did not give me the chance to make some mistakes, learn and to better myself. I put down my walls, I let people in and see me at my most vulnerable THE TEAM of ILYH from the actors to Direk Giselle, our writers, staff & crew, Star Cinema ADPROM and ABS CBN worked sleepless nights, braved the strom and worked till our own bodies gave up on us to produce a good quality film. It’s about time they get the recognition and appreciation they deserve. We made a movie to add positivity to people’s lives and make them feel that they’re not alone. BLAMING KRIS. Isang netizen ang nagtanong kung saan nagkulang ang pelikula, at kung hindi ba buo ang suportang ibinigay ng ABS-CBN.

Sagot dito ni Julia, “The network won't put out money & produce a film they won't support, I don't see the logic. They have been so supportive and generous to our film.”

Muling sumagot ang netizen at nagtanong kung kasalanan ba ni Kris kung bakit hindi kumita ang pelikula.

Dagdag pa ni Kris, gusto niyang protektahan ang team-up nina Julia at Joshua Garcia.

Sana ay natuto ang raw dalawa at mas naging matibay dahil sa kanilang karanasan.

Sagot ni Julia kay Kris, “I have love for you and your two sons and we all have built a good relationship so it also pains me to watch you blame yourself, Tita.

“Whatever the outcome of the movie, no one deserves to take the blame.

“We brought light to a lot of people through the film.”
