Ligaya stars Rosanna Roces, John Arcilla pay homage to Armida Siguion-Reyna

Ipinagluluksa ng Philippine showbiz ang pagpanaw ng singer/actress/film producer na si Armida Siguion-Reyna.

Sumakabilang-buhay si Armida dahil sa colon cancer, sa edad na 88, nitong Lunes, February 11.

Bumuhos naman sa social media ang pakikiramay ng mga nakatrabaho, kakilala, at naging malapit sa buhay ng beterana at magaling na aktres.

ROSANNA ROCES

Isang pasasalamat ang ibinahagi ng aktres na si Rosanna Roces para sa yumaong si Armida.

Sa pamamagitan ng pag-aaring film company ni Armida, ang Reyna Films, nakilala ang husay ni Rosanna bilang isang aktres.

Kabilang sa mga pelikulang ginawa ng dating sexy star para sa Reyna Films ay ang Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin (1997) at Ang Mga Lalaki sa Buhay ni Selya (1998).

Mensahe ni Rosanna—Jennifer Cruz Adriano sa totoong buhay—sa kanyang Facebook post kagabi, February 11: "Tita Midz...ikaw ang unang nagtiwala sa akin na gumawa ng makabuluhang pelikula..hindi lang isa kundi dalawa.

"Ipinakilala mo ako sa mga manunuod ng Art film..at binigyan mo ako ng pagkakataon maipinta ng mga tinitingalang Pintor at National artists...

"Baon ko lahat ng natutunan ko mula sa yo mula noon hanggang ngayon. Walang hanggang pasasalamat tita midz. Walang Ligaya at Selya kung wala si... Armida."

Sa pamamagitan din ng Facebook, nagbigay-pugay ang aktor na si John Arcilla, co-star ni Rosanna sa Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo sa Akin, sa yumaong film producer/actress/singer.

Saad ni John sa kanyang post: "We fondly call her tita Midz. She was the Showbiz Luminary who introduced me to one of the biggest films in 1997 Ligaya ang itawag mo sa akin with Rosanna Roces and then she brought me to her Cultural Heritage of Filipino Kundimans via Aawitan kita afterwards.

"I consider myself one of the luckiest when she brought me to the mainstream audience from my theater life.

"Her Reyna Films is one of the Iconic productions that highlights the shining career of big stars stars Snooky Serna, Maricel Soriano, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta during those times.

"I can not ask for more. Those were one the greatest years of my life.

"You were one of the distinguished influencers in your time, a Tigress as they say but you tita Mids left a soft spot in my heart and memories.

ADOLF ALIX JR.

Isang malaking break din para sa baguhang writer noong si Adolf Alix, Jr. na mabigyan ng pagkakataong makatrabaho si Armida, ang Reyna Films, at ang direktor nitong anak na si Carlos Siguion-Reyna.

Ang mag-ina ang nagbigay ng malaking break kay Adolf, na noo'y graduating college student sa Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Pag-alala ng ngayo'y award-winning writer-director, "She was the one who first believed in me as a storyteller.

"My first screenplay 'ADA' won first prize in the 1997 Film Development Foundation of the Philippines Inc.

"Tita Midz bought the screenplay and made it into a film - 'KAHAPON MAY DALAWANG BATA' (1999) directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna.

"She told me that I can immerse myself during the filming until post-production so I can experience the filmmaking process first hand.

"Tita Midz was very encouraging that I pursue a career in filmmaking.

"Every night after shoot in Pagudpud, she would listen to my other concepts and motivated me to write them.

"I learned a lot of things from that experience which until now I look back when I work on films.

"I will be forever grateful that she opened the door for me to be part of this industry.

"Rest in peace, Tita Midz. Thank you for the timeless lessons and for producing some of the country’s best films."
