Inferno‘s average daily sales increased by 50% after MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino released his now-controversial letter last May 23. It will be recalled that Tolentino expressed his “disappointment” over Dan Brown‘s “inaccurate” depiction of Manila in the author‘s latest novel. Back to the sales, according to Xandra Ramos of National Book Store, "We expect to outpace Dan Brown‘s last book, Lost Symbol."
