Mark Herras has a point when he says, “Ang sa akin lang po, hindi naman po porke’t artista, basta-basta na lang nila ako aapihin, pati ang pamilya ko." He said this in connection with his near-brawl with a taxi driver. And although, at face value, his statement doesn‘t make sense—because no one will think an "artista" is "aapihin"—it actually does. Some regular folk like to pick quarrels with movie stars.
One, they think stars are fair game: stars are famous, so stars are bad boys. And, what‘s more, they assume the public will side with them. Two, they think there‘s money to be had: stars will pay up to avoid bad publicity.
Whether Mark had half the responsibility or all of it in the near-brawl, that
is where his statement is coming from.
