The drama film Boses will represent the Philippines as it opens the 2017 ASEAN Film Festival in Geneva. This is in commemoration of the 50th Founding Anniversary of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). The festival will run from March 27-April 7 at the Palais des Nations in Switzerland. The 2008 movie was invited by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations and other International Organizations through the office of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. Boses tells the story of how love saved a boy from his past and how music gave him his future. It is directed by Ellen Ongkeko Marfil and stars Ricky Davao, Cherry Pie Picache, Meryll Soriano, and introduces Coke Bolipata and his child protege, Julian Duque, as lead actors.
