"[The] hospital also failed to give even the most basic assistance to its healthcare workers...

Pagdidetalye ng sender: "17 were employees; three were doctors and two were nurses, to name a few.

"Six were inpatients, three of which has already succumbed to their deaths.

"There are 238 employees with PUI status and were advised to go on home quarantine.

"There are 9 inpatients being observed as PUIs. Four pavilions were on total lockdown (Pavilion 1, 7, 28 & 35)."

"The PUI cases among the inpatients of Pavilion 28 started after some employees had a community exposure.

"Six patients developed pneumonia and later tested positive for COVID-19.

"From thereon, there had been may untraced exposures to both staff and patients.

"As everyone was also at risk to acquire the disease outside of work, some employees also developed symptoms and later on, tested positive. But days has passed before it was detected."

"Because of the mobility and numbers of the service users within the confined spaces in the wards, the likelihood of transmission is very high, more so that 'social distancing' could not really be implemented.

"Thus it is not impossible to have an outbreak within the wards and the hospital."

"Similarly, the mental condition of these service users made their physical condition more vulnerable to diseases.

"If every pavilion can house a number of patients, DO THE MATH. The total number is shocking."

"But has this alarmed the higher ups? I don’t know and I don’t feel urgency in their actions."

ALLEGED INACTION OF HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION

Himutok ng letter sender: "Until now, the [hospital] administration still has no plan to feed its workers who are already making the sacrifice!"

"Since there were confirmed cases for COVID-19, the hospital also failed to give even the most basic assistance to its healthcare workers.

"Those who were tested positive merely relied on the help from the Mandaluyong RESU team, from transportation to accommodation.

"One elderly female patient had to wait for four days, alone inside a tent!

"The hospital also has no plan whatsoever for those who were put on PUI status. They were just merely sent home.

"Many already had mild symptoms, but the testing kits were limited!"

"Who will take care of our psychiatric patients when all of us mental health providers are sick?

"We also have families to go home to. We also have a future to look forward to.

"Please take care of us too," apela ng anonymous sender.

LOCKDOWN OUTSIDE NCMH
