Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, postponed ang kidney transplant dahil sa coronavirus pandemic

Dahil sa coronavirus pandemic, hindi pa natutuloy ang kidney-transplant procedure kay Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago.

Ayon kay Bea, postponed muna ang lahat ng transplants.

Habang naghihintay, tuluy-tuloy ang dialysis treatment niya sa Toronto, Canada.

Sa kanyang recent Instagram post, muling ikinuwento ni Bea ang pagkakaroon niya ng autoimmune disease noong 17 years old lang siya.

Payo pa niya, "Don’t stress over anything, get yearly whole body check ups, eat plant based food or eat more veggies and try to avoid red meat and drink lots of clean water."

August 2018 nang ipagtapat ni Bea sa publiko ang kanyang chronic kidney illness sa pamamagitan pa rin ng Instagram post.

Rebelasyon niya noon: “Yes, I’m sick. I damaged my kidneys when I was younger.

"My kidneys are more sensitive than a normal late 20s healthy woman.

"I can’t overdo things, and I just found out.

"Came to the hospital for my severe migraines and we found out something potentially more dangerous.

"I’m thankful but at the same time really scared.

"Guys, if you take pre-workout [drinks]… plus heavy workout, be careful!

"Apparently, there are many more like me! We damaged our kidneys because of our gym life!"

Noong December 2018, sinabi ni Bea na kailangan na niya ng life-saving transplant dahil sa kidney failure.

KIDNEY DONOR

Sa isang interbyu noong June 2019, nabanggit ni Bea na naghahanap siya ng kidney donor.

Possible candidates ang kanyang ina, kapatid, kaibigan, at boyfriend na si Marc Nash.

Noong May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day, pinasalamatan ni Bea ang kanyang ina na pumayag maging kidney donor niya.

"Thank you for your willingness to give mama!

"I’m crying as I am writing this. I really appreciate you.

"I’m one of the lucky ones to still have my mommy with me.

"Thank you for willing to be my angel.

"Thank you for going to the maximum level of loving one’s child by extending their life even when it means cutting and scarring.

"I love you sooo much! Thank you for testing and being my future kidney donor!"
