John Arcilla on losing family members to COVID-19: "You have to hold on to your faith. You have to recreate the joy and the happiness that you knew before because, whether you like it or not, when a loved one passed away especially during this pandemic, it’s not really very easy."

Nagpapasalamat si John Arcilla sa Italian Embassy Manila dahil sa parangal na ipagkakaloob sa kanya sa Cultural Center of the Philippines sa January 2022.

Ito ay para sa Volpi Cup for Best Actor na napanalunan niya sa 78th Venice Film Festival noong September 2021 para sa mahusay na pagganap niya sa On the Job: The Missing 8 ng Reality MM Studios.

Ipinahayag ni John ang kanyang pasasalamat sa digital media conference ng A Hard Day na naganap ngayong Biyernes ng gabi, December 10.

Ang A Hard Day ang official entry ng Viva Films sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2021.

Pahayag ni John, “It is such a great honor that the embassy is providing me now a space and a stage because I was not able to receive the Volpi Cup myself during that particular special day in Venice.

“But now they’re providing me stage and a program for me to recieve it personally was really such a big honor. I was also thankful to the producers and my director [Dondon Monteverde and Erik Matti].”

“It’s just really hard kasi there were a lot of people that you love who suffered from this pandemic, and you have to move on.

“You have to hold on to your faith. You have to recreate the joy and the happiness that you knew before because, whether you like it or not, when a loved one passed away especially during this pandemic, it’s not really very easy.

"But then, you cannot question the will of God.

"When I tell the story, it’s coming back again, but in my daily basis, somehow na-overcome ko na yung hurdles na mas mabibigat.

"And the faith and the spirituality really helped me a lot," saad ni John, na nabahiran ng lungkot ang boses nang mapag-usapan ang pagkawala ng kanyang mga mahal sa buhay dahil sa COVID-19.
