Matinding pagkabigla pa rin ang nararamdaman ng beauty pageant community dahil sa tragic death ni Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst.
Winakasan ni Cheslie ang sariling buhay sa pamamagitan ng pagtalon mula sa high-rise condominium building na tinitirhan niya sa New York City nitong Linggo, January 30, 2022 (New York City time).

Nauna nang naglabas ng pahayag ang Miss Universe Organization at si Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray tungkol sa pagpanaw ng 30-year-old beauty queen, lawyer, at television host.
Malapit sa isa’t isa sina Catriona at Cheslie dahil nagkasama sila sa official New York residence ng Miss Universe Organization nang manalo silang Miss Universe 2018 at Miss USA 2019, respectively.
Nagkaroon naman ng pagkakataon si Marian Rivera na makilala nang personal si Cheslie dahil pareho silang naging miyembro ng selection committee ng 70th Miss Universe na ginanap sa Eilat, Israel noong December 13, 2021.
Hindi naman malilimutan ni Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach ang kabutihan ni Cheslie sa mensahe nito para sa namayapang kapwa beauty queen.
“So sorry, Cheslie… you were so kind. Thank you. You’re an inspiration & loved by so many. Rest in peace Cheslie,” mensahe ni Pia sa Instagram account ni Cheslie.

Si Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados ang batchmate ni Cheslie sa 68th Miss Universe na idinaos sa Georgia, USA noong December 8, 2019.
Hindi makapaniwala si Gazini sa nangyari kay Chelsie.
Iito ang kabuuan ng kanyang Instagram post ngayong Lunes ng umaga, January 31, 2022:
“Woke up to the saddest news! I can’t believe i’ll never see you again. You will be missed and the light you shone so bright. Heaven has gained another angel. Gone too soon!”
Hindi ito naiiba sa mensahe ni Gazini na mababasa sa Instagram account ni Cheslie:
“You will be missed my love! You were the sweetest. Heaven has gained another angel! I love you so much. Rest easy.”
Binigyan naman ng kahulugan at pinagdebatehan ng ibang commenters ang mensahe ni Gazini dahil may isang nagkomentong hindi magiging anghel at makakapasok sa kaharian ng Panginoong Diyos si Cheslie dahil nagpakamatay ito.
Sagot naman ng ilang netizens:
“Anyone saying she can’t get to heaven as a Christian after suicide is wrong."
"Someone needs to teach you respect."
"Where in the Bible does it say you will go to hell if you take own your life?"
Gaya nina Catriona, Pia, at Gazini, palaisipan para kay Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart ang desisyon ni Cheslie na wakasan ang sariling buhay.
Aniya, “Our community is rocked by the news of Cheslie's passing. She was such an incredible person and I am at a loss, trying to make sense of something which will never, ever make sense.
“I love you Cheslie. I thank you for your spirit, your smile, your laugh and uncanny ability to make any stressful situation better.
“You always told me, 'Don’t worry, we got this!' and you were always right. Professionally, you were a star, but as a human being you shined even brighter.
“You were there for me, time and time again and I just wish I had known the pain you were in. I am blessed to know you and call you a friend, I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken.

Trivia: Noong November 23, 2001, malaking balita sa Pilipinas ang pagpapakamatay ni Maria Teresa Carlson sa pamamagitan ng pagtalon mula sa tinitirhan niyang condominium building sa Annapolis Street, Greenhills, San Juan.
Tulad ni Cheslie, beauty queen din si Teresa dahil siya ang winner ng Bb. Pilipinas Young International crown noong 1979 na naging intrumento para madali sa kanyang makapasok sa showbiz at makilala bilang comedienne.
