Pero nagkaroon ng mga pagbabago dahil sa coronavirus pandemic at sa shooting schedule, kaya sina JC Santos at Zanjoe Marudo ang naging lead actors niya.
“Originally, I wanted someone else to be the actress for 366 and then, the pandemic happened. Alam naman natin na nahirapan ang lahat sa pandemic and there were a lot of actors who didn’t want to work which I understand.
“Siyempre, mahirap yung biglang sasabak sa trouble, sa shooting life, and walang kasiguruhan sa pag-shoot in the middle of the pandemic,” umpisang kuwento ni Bela tungkol sa conceptualization ng 366.
“I really wanted Liza to be the lead actress for 366. I even came to a point I asked for her schedule already. She was doing a TV show at the time also, so I inquired Liza for this, and then eventually, the pandemic happened.
“I had to do major revisions for the script. Originally I wanted 366 to be shot in Budapest in Hungary. Ninety percent of the film was supposed to be shot in Budapest and I had to change that, nag-close ang borders.
“Lumipat sa Turkey ang shoot. Thankfully, Turkey was the last few countries that were allowing visitors and filmmakers to shoot and it was such a blessing in disguise. Very cinematic ang Turkey. Ang ganda-ganda sa screen.”
Isang aktor na mas matanda ang gusto ni Bela na makapareha ni Liza sa 366 kaya kinausap niya si Piolo na nagpakita ng interes sa project pero hindi rin natuloy ang partisipasyon ng 45-year-old actor dahil sa problema sa schedule.
“I wanted sana older actor for Liza to work with. Actually, nabasa po ni Piolo itong script na ’to hanggang sa umabot na ako na yung artista, hindi na si Liza, Piolo was still attached to the film.
“We were discussing it already. He read the script. We already had the target when we wanted to shoot and then, we kinda went in different directions.
“Piolo shot a real-life fiction and I already wanted to shoot 366.
"Nagpaalam din ako sa kanya na kung okey lang na magsu-shoot na rin kami and I was gonna start shooting for my cast,” pahayag ni Bela tungkol sa naudlot na pagbibida nina Liza at Piolo sa kanyang movie directorial debut.
“Hindi ko pinilit yung original na vision ko, and when Boss Vic and Boss Vincent [Del Rosario, Viva Films producers] said na ‘Ikaw na rin ito. Ikaw na ang gumawa ng project na ’to,’ I didn’t think twice, I said yes,” pagtatapos ni Bela.
