The netizens complained about glitches on the Philippine Identification System portal
Here's one: a technical error warning on the PhilSys website.
Some who were able to input their e-mail never receive their one-time pin via text.
Reportr tried logging into the website's desktop version at 8 a.m. and got the technical error warning.
The Philippine Statistics Authority issued an advisory informing the public that they were aware of the glitches and were working on a fix. For updates, applicants were advised to check back on their Facebook page or website.
"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Our technical team is currently figuring out the source of the problem. We will provide updates as soon as the website is up and running. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," the PSA said in the post.
The PhilSys ID or national ID is a unified identification system that houses important information and security functions. The ID comes in both digital and physical formats, along with a unique PhilSys Number, or PSN, you can give to prove your identity.
Once in place, it is seen to ease the receipt of aid and application for bank accounts and services.
Registration comes in three parts:
- Providing data
- Setting an appointment with a registration center
- Issuance of ID
The first step is ideally done online, with a physical appearance to follow for fingerprint and iris scans, plus a front-facing photograph.
