“Safety seals” for malls, commercial establishments that follow protocols this pandemic

Para mas mapanatag ang kalooban ng publiko sa pagpunta sa establishments sa gitna ng pandemya, nagsanib-puwersa ang ilang government agencies para ilunsad ang "safety seal certification program."

Layon ng programa na tiyaking masunod ng commercial establishments ang mga pangunahing safety protocols para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng kanilang customers.

Nagsasagawa ng inspeksiyon ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa mga mall at naglalagay ng safety seal, na tanda ng compliance nila sa health protocols.

Ilan sa mga hinahanap na safety measure establishments ay kinabibilangan ng digital contact tracing, crowd control, at ventilation.

Kapag ang isang establishment ay pumasa sa public health standards at nabigyan ng safety seal, papayagan silang magdagdag ng kapasidad.

"We are also allowing an additional 10 percentage point na opening.

“So, kung 20 percent at may, let's say yung restaurant ay may safety seal, allowed pong mag-increase ng capacity.

“Yun po yung benefit ng safety seal kasi sumusunod sa standard, e," ani DTI Chief Ramon Lopez sa ulat ng ABS-CBN News.

Pero titiyakin daw ng DILG na hindi magpapabaya ang mga commercial establishments kapag nabigyan sila ng safety seal certification.

Una, ang safety seal ay valid lamang sa loob ng anim na buwan.

“Babalikan namin after six months and then meron ding tinatawag na surprise inspection,” ani DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya.

“So, kung makatanggap for example ang LGU ng reklamo… At pag na-inspect na may violation, the establishment will be given a certain period of time to comply. Pag hindi, puwedeng ma-revoke yung kanyang business permit."

Sa ngayon, may malls na nabigyan na ng safety seals, kabilang ang SM Megamall, ilang branches ng Vista Mall at Star Mall.

Inaasahan namang susunod na ring mabibigyan ng safety seal ang ibang Ayala Malls at Robinsons Mall branches kapag natapos na ang inspeksiyon sa mga ito.

Noong Abril, limang government agencies ang pumirma sa implementing guidelines para sa safety seal certification program.

Sisiguraduhin ng kampanya ang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards ng business establishments.

Collaboration ito ng DTI, DILG, Department of Tourism, Department of Labor and Employment, at Department of Health.
