It was a sad day in August 2020 when long-time UP Diliman favorite The Chocolate Kiss Café announced they would be closing their restaurant doors permanently.

Fortunately, they continued to take pick-up and delivery orders for their cakes, so you could still get your fix of their famous Devil's Food and other signature desserts for your celebrations at home.

But that is soon coming to an end, too: The Chocolate Kiss Café has announced they will be closing their Cakeshop as well, effective June 23.

The Chocolate Kiss Café writes in a social media post published today, June 7, "The past year of navigating through the lockdowns was quite exciting, but sadly, not sustainable, which has prompted us to wind things down.

"[We're] still selling your favorites up to the last day [on June 22], and maybe even whipping up a few limited edition and seasonal goodies in the lineup to finish up our ingredients."

You have a bit less than a month remaining to get your fill of your favorites.

"The Chocolate Kiss cakes were born in a home kitchen," the café writes.

Baking and selling started out as a hobby for the café's founders, and this became a "modest side business" especially during the holidays.

"No one planned for this 'sideline' to build its own commissary, nor grow into a 23-year-old café. How far it has come; how much we've experienced!

Now the ride is almost over, and we're counting down to our last day of selling cakes."

"[On] behalf of everyone who was part of The Chocolate Kiss family, we thank you for making us part of your celebrations, and your lives. We've built so many good memories over the years, and we only want to leave you with happy thoughts."

You don't want to miss this chance, so head over to its delivery website to place your orders two days in advance.

They also have a daily small selection of cakes available for same-day walk-in orders, which you can view here.

Note that The Chocolate Kiss does not handle the deliveries—you'll have to book your own courier (they recommend getting a car) or drop by their Fairview commissary to pick up your orders.

Whether your hankerings lead you to their fluffy Devil's Food Cake (starts at PHP180/four-inch round), creamy Blueberry Cheesecake (starts at PHP350/four-inch round) that made it to our 2020 Top 10 Blueberry Cheesecake list), citrusy Dayap Chiffon Cake (starts at PHP190/four-inch round), savory-sweet Quezo Chiffon Cake (starts at PHP170/four-inch round), coffee-y Kahlua Butter Cake (starts at PHP270/four-inch round), or moist Carrot Cake (starts at PHP210/four-inch round), which is also one of our favorites of its kind, it's worth having that last sweet slice while you still can.
