As expected, nanguna sa North America last weekend (Hulyo 8-10) ang pwetmalung pelikula ni Chris Hemsworth, kung saan namukadkad ang marvelous and thunderous love story nina Thor at Mighty Thor.
$144.2M ang opening weekend gross ng Thor: Love and Thunder sa U.S. at Canada. Umabot agad sa $303M ang worldwide gross nito, at pumuwesto na ito bilang pansampu sa pinakasakalam na movie this year.
Ang Top 5 sa worldwide gross this 2022, so far, ay Top Gun: Maverick ($1.2B), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($953M), Jurassic World Dominion ($876M), The Batman ($771M) at Water Gate Bridge ($627M).
Ang pang-anim hanggang pansiyam ay Minions: The Rise of Gru ($405.8M), Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore ($405.2M), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ($401.9M), at Uncharted ($401.7M).
Siyempre, mababago pa ang ranking na iyan next week. Inaasahan nating papasok eventually sa Top 5 ang Thor: Love and Thunder.
Coming soon sa local cinemas ang horror thriller na The Black Phone (Hulyo 20), Superpets (Hulyo 27), Bullet Train (Agosto 3), at Beast (Agosto 10). Wala na yatang Pinoy film na mag-o-open this month.
Sa Agosto 5-14 ang Cinemalaya 18: Breaking Through The Noise, kung saan tampok ang labing-isang feature-length films.

Dapat sana’y dalawampu (20) ang mga ito, hanggang sa naging labintatlo (13), pero nalagasan pa ng dalawa.

Even if Thor: Love and Thunder makes it big sa box office, hindi pa rin nito mao-offset ang ilang buwan o taon ng pagkakatigil ng palabas sa pelikula.
Sayang nga lang na yung Ngayon Kaya ay nasa micro cinema na lang. Hindi rin nito na-sustain ang movie audience para mapanatili sa mga mainstream na sinehan.
About Maid In Malacañang, it’ll be a stroke of luck kung susuportahan ito ng 31M strong BBM Supporters. Oh welll, who knows?
But I’m sure, the C-D-E BBM Supporters will focus on having food to eat and transpo subsidy than watch this movie.
