Ani Chair Tirso, “Kami sa FDCP, we would like to announce that we are extending a little financial help para sa The Missing 8. We are giving one million pesos. Congratulations, On The Job.”

“Ang business partner ko, si Direk Erik Matti… it’s been a decade journey trying to advocate Filipino ingenuity abroad talaga, no? So until now, tuluy-tuloy ang journey.”

Tuluy-tuloy raw ang magandang balita sa pelikulang ito, pagkatapos nanalo ni John Arcilla bilang best actor last year sa 78th Venice International Film Festival.

“After winning the Volpi Cup in Venice, di ba? Last night, we received a very good news. Na-nominate tayo sa International Emmy’s for the category of mini-series in television.

“And now, itong journey naman na going to the Oscars, sana pray for us, kasi for whatever gains na makuha namin, it’s the victory of our Filipino Film Industry,” dagdag niyang pahayag.

So, after a long while na wala, sana naman the stars will align na makapasok tayo. Ma-nominate lang tayo sa Oscars, that’s a victory already for the whole industry.

“Malaking tulong itong suporta ng FDCP. So, maraming salamat Chair Tirso Cruz III for at least giving us support. With your one million pesos, will travel a lot already for the film.”

It’s hard to predict,” sabi ni Dondon.

“Siyempre, we have to study and analyze para kung ano ba talaga, para makamit natin to para sa ating pelikulang Pilipino.

Sana.

Ayon sa Facebook post ng DGPI, “The Directors' Guild of the Philippines, which was tasked by the Film Academy of the Philippines to spearhead the process in determining this year's Official Submission for Best International Feature to the 95th Academy Awards, congratulates the selected film, Erik Matti's On the Job: The Missing 8!

“DGPI thanks the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the Film Academy of the Philippines and the Inter Guild Alliance for being part of this successful selection process!”

Ang mga ito ay ang 12 Weeks, The Baseball Player, The Blue Room, ang documentary film na Delikado, Leonor Will Never Die, On the Job: The Missing 8, at When the Waves Are Gone.
