“Like for example, mag-drug testing dahil kailangan sa trabaho, requirement siya. Yun, OK yun.

Drug capital. Yung droga was really at its peak, at its worst in the city,” pagbabalik-tanaw ni Goma.

“So, sabi ko sa tao, if I win as mayor, I am going to clean up the city. Of which I did.

“Tamang-tama kaming dalawa ni Presidente [Rodrigo] Duterte, nanalo. I spoke to him, I told him the problem.

“So, in less than six months, naging drug-free yung Ormoc City. It was a tough job, pero ganun talaga. You had to be strong about it.”

Aniya, “There were really drug operations and a lot of dark personalities died during those drug days.

“Yun ang trabaho ng pulis. Pag lumaban talaga yung hinuhuli, the police will have to protect themselves.

“So, after six months, eight out of the Top 10 drug personalities na nasa Ormoc City were gone.”

It’s totally different, e. Pag mayor ka, hands on ka, you do everything.

“Every day you make 10 to 15 decisions on different matters.”

Ani Mayor Lucy, “We’ve been very blessed to enjoy the support of every president. There was no president who was not good to us.

“PNoy [Noynoy Aquino] was very good to us. Si President Duterte was wonderful to us, then PBBM has also been just really really sincere and nice and wonderful to us.”

“It shows the government is supportive of our programs also, and they took it as a chance to inspect the ongoing projects.

“Kasi ang relationship ng LGU at government is really synergistic. For them to be effective, the LGU has to perform, and for us to be effective sa LGU also and sa Congress, we need a president who will support.

“So, it’s really a relationship,” dagdag pang pahayag ni Mayor Lucy.

“Why not? I have more time than being a mayor, so… in Congress, yeah, we’ll see,” sambit ni Cong. Goma.

“But then again, it depends on the script, 'no. I’m very script-based. I really take into account the quality of the material.

“I’m very fortune na a lot of classics, ngayon lumalabas, di ba? One or two films, kasama ako lagi, e. It’s a product of choosing you project well.”

May offers na ba sa kanyang magbalik-akting?

“Actually, tumawag nga si JoAnn Bañaga, kasi meron siyang international film na gustong gawin.

“Australian ang producer. Pero hindi ko alam kung magagawa ko. Kasi, yung mga ganung klase, it’s very hectic, e,” pagtatapat ni Cong. Goma.

Puwede ba siya sa lock-in shooting?

“Mahirap ang lock-in.”

Hindi siya talaga puwede sa TV series?

Mabilis na tugon ni Cong. Goma, “Sure ako, hindi. It’s mainly because may lock-in sila. I cannot be locked in taping for mga 30 days. I have work.”

After all, Goma is not Urian’s Aktor ng Dekada for nothing.

Exciting ang prospects of Goma helping our industry and spurring change. Exciting din ang kanyang pagbabalik-pelikula if ever.

All the best, Goma!
