Aneeza Gutierrez has been reaping praises from family members, colleagues, and netizens, for being a diligent daughter who knows how to work hard for the most worthwhile things in life.
To get to know Aneeza better, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got up close and personal with her in an exclusive interview.
Both her mom and dad are into acting, but entering showbiz was not an automatic path for Aneeza and her younger sister Aneeka.
In a previous interview with her dad Tonton, he said studies should be their priority.
Aneeza was totally okay with this.
According to her, "I know this will sound cliché but my family is my most prized possession.
"I really cherish and love them, I would do anything for them and I know they will do the same for me.
"Para sa akin po, family comes first, palagi sila nandiyan para sa iyo at tutulungan ka nila."
ADVICE FROM ANEEKA'S PARENTS
When asked about the perennial "bilin" of her mom and dad, she replied, "Both my parents have taught me a lot of great lessons and pieces of advice.
"Three of what I always remember are: 'Your best is enough for us,' 'Treat others the way you want to be treated,' and 'Never forget God’s love and guidance.'
"Nasa puso ko po itong tatlong advice na binigay ng parents ko. It really helped me shaped my mindset and my life.
"Super thankful ako sa parents ko for always being there for my sister and I, and for teaching us good lessons and pieces of advice para magamit namin ito for the best."
ANEEKA's GRANDMA LIZA LORENA
Growing up, she has had a close relationship with her Mamita or her lola on her father's side.
She recalled, "My best childhood memory is that we would always go to Mamita’s house every weekend.
"I remember having so many good memories with Mamita and my cousin Kuya Philippe.
"We would play in the rain, maglaro ng board games, Chinese garter, piko, tumbang preso, jackstones, pick up sticks, and just spending time with each other was enough for me.
"Since I grew up always being around my 2 Lolas, I am very close with them.
"Mamita and I hold a special bond, I would always video call her almost every night, especially na nasa Singapore ako.
"I would update her on what I did in school, or magkuwe-kuwentuhan lang kami about random things."
Living overseas, Accomplishments
That Boy In The Dark lead actress has far-reaching plans.
Having turned 18 this year, and graduated from senior high school, Aneeza is presently studying abroad and taking up a course in Business Management.
She explained, "I took this course kasi hopefully in the future, makagawa po ako ng sariling business.
"The university I am in right now offers a really good program na makakapag-aral po ako sa iba’t ibang bansa; Singapore for 1st year, Dubai for 2nd year, and Australia for my 3rd and 4th year.
"I am grateful na nakapasok po ako dito sa university, at nakakuha din ako ng scholarship.
"Sobrang thankful po ako sa parents ko for allowing me to experience this great opportunity, and I am trying my best to improve myself and I want to make them proud."
On the verge of a promising career in showbiz, Aneeza at the moment exults in the idea of mapping her own destiny.
She beamed, "My greatest accomplishment of my life, as of the moment, is graduating high school and currently studying in a good college, while having a part-time job.
"I am happy of what I am doing right now, and I am improving myself to become a better person.
"My motto in life is inspired by Audrey Hepburn: 'Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.'
"This motto has always been with me since I first heard it; you can achieve anything as long as you put your heart and mind into it."
In a previous interview with PEP.ph, Aneeza said she's been juggling work and getting a college degree.
She said then, "I am passionate about experiencing life.
"I try my best to study while having a part-time job of being a waitress, cashier, and dishwasher in a Japanese restaurant near my dorm.
"I am having fun and proud po ako sa ginagawa ko kasi learning step po siya in experiencing life para sa akin."
Asked about her parents' reaction to her decision, Aneeza said, "Nung sinabi ko po sa parents ko na gusto ko mag-part-time job dito sa Singapore, nagulat po sila.
"They never expected po na I wanted to do a part-time job. I made a decision to consider doing part-time work po kasi I want to save up money for my future.
"And I do not want to always rely on my parents for money, kaya kahit papaano po I have my own money I could save and use for my everyday needs.
Her mom Glydel shared with PEP.ph, "Super proud parents kami kasi mas pinili niya na mag-aral kesa sa showbiz.
"Nakita niya kasi sa amin ng dad niya kung gaano kahirap ang work namin. Minsan, hindi na kami nagkikita sa house kapag umaga na kami umuuwi mula sa taping at shooting."
With Aneeza prioritizing her studies over her acting career goals, her lead role in the upcoming 2023 film That Boy In The Dark, starring alongside Joaquin Domagoso, will mark the last of her acting stints probably in a long while.
Demonstratively, Aneeza also has her heart in the right place.
She revealed, "My childhood dream was to be a teacher or a charity worker.
"When I was a young kid, I would see my parents donating my old toys and clothes, I asked them where do they bring it and they said they will donate it to an orphanage.
"It became a dream of mine to help kids in orphanages, I want to give a smile on their faces and that alone will make me happy helping them.
"I am also really passionate about helping people, gusto ko po magbigay at mag-share ng blessing sa iba’t ibang tao.
"Hopefully, sa future po, makakatulong po ako sa mga charities in the Philippines.

Interesting trivia about Aneesa: "My current celebrity crush has always been Justin Bieber. I love his music and I have always been a big fan of his.
"My filipino celebrity crush is Donny Pangilinan."
Hobbies and interests
Even during her spare time, Aneeza occupies herself "playing sports, listening to music, watching movies and cooking, and baking with my family."
Those have been her hobbies since she was a kid.
"I have been always exposed to sports as I have always been an active kid. I play basketball, football/soccer and golf.
"In my free time, I usually listen to music and it relaxes me. I love watching movies, especially kung kasama ko yung family ko.
"We also cook and bake together, we try to cook different kinds of cuisines and we also bake our favourite desserts, like Crème Brûlée.
"Those are some of the things we do to bond and spend time with each other."
A travel bug, Aneesa said, "One thing na nasa bucket list ko is traveling around the Philippines more with my family.
"I want to know and explore more about the beauty of the Philippines.
"I want to experience the different cultures, and discover how we have so many historical places to visit."
Her "favorite recent memory" was touring her mom around the Lion City.
"When my mom visited me here in Singapore, sobrang masaya po ako nung bumisita siya dito.
"Though it was just a short amount of time, I was able to show her the beauty of Singapore at yung usual na ginagawa ko po sa buhay ko dito.
"I showed her how to ride the bus, SMRT, at pina-experience ko din po sa kaniya yung Hawker Centres dito."
