Knowing that her parents can be at the same place together
and actually work together, according to KC Concepcion, is "one big sigh of
relief."
The daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion sat as a guest on the May 17
episode of The Buzz to talk about the much-talked about cameo appearance
of her father in the Star Cinema movie BFF (Best Friends Forever).
"Nakakamove kasi siyempre parang ngayon lang nangyari. Maganda, masarap yung
feeling. Peace, finally. Siyempre nagwiwish ako na magkamovie sila. Actually,
hindi separate kinunan ‘yon. Same shooting day nila ‘yon. I was there when they
were shooting it and it was very, very, meaningful."
"They didn't tell me na may cameo," said KC to hosts Ruffa Gutierrez and Boy Abunda. "But I got invited to the set nung nagshu-shoot si Papa ng eksena niya, yung end part. When I went, I found out that it was for BFF."
For her, it means a lot to witness that historical moment.
"But of course, just knowing that they be in the same movie as my mom, of
course, just the fact na nag-usap nila, nagkita sila, was such a big deal for
me.
Ano kayang
mangyayari?' So at least nung nalaman ko na sila na yung nagkita and then sila
na yung nagbatian, nawala sa akin [yung stress]."
WALK THE WORLD ON JUNE 7. On top of her showbiz commitments, KC still finds time her time to serve as the ambassador of the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme.
"It's a labor of love and it's my way of saying thank you for all the blessings," explained KC. "You know we make mistakes, lahat naman nagkakamali, but there are ways that we can give back to the world to say thanks."
On June 7, 2009, KC invites the public to attend the annual global event of UN World Food Programme called "End Hunger: Walk the World." This is a rally that aims to raise awareness about the problem of hunger worldwide, with 80 countries expected to participate. In the Philippines, the rally will begin in the U.S. Embassy/Manila Yacht Club and end at Rajah Sulayman in Malate.
"Our focus is hunger. It's about fighting hunger: it's the most basic need," said KC. "Sabi ko nga kay Mariel [Rodriguez] kahapon [May 16] sa Wowowee, ‘Naku Mariel kung makita tayo sa CNN at BBC, kailangan bongga yung Pilipinas. Kailangan makita nilang maraming tao, kailangan, we'll break records na mag-rarally against hunger."
