"The idea came from the Aquino sisters, they wanted to do it coz promise nila sa Mommy nila tapos nangyari pa 'yung sa bagyong Ondoy and Pepeng," kuwento ni Jonathan. "Panahon pa ng crisis, [so it's] encouraging Filipinos to pray again. They offered the project sa Star Records, ako naman, I did the musical scoring, the mixing, the mastering."
"Actually these are songs from the church, walang commercials. It's strictly a religious double CD project.
Ani Jonathan, "Now, I have an advocacy project ng Western Union sung by Rhap Salazar, titled 'Galing ng Pinoy.' I write so many songs about Pinoys since this is my personal advocacy, 'Galing ng Pinoy' focuses on the talents of Pinoys and what we expose around the world."
PROFILE. A graduate of Polytechnic University, si Jonathan ay nagkaroon ng break sa music industry sa pamamagitan ng isang singing contest ng Kapamilya Network.
"I graduated year 2000 in PUP tapos, I joined Himig Handog of ABS-CBN. After my graduation, I was discovered there. I was the grand prize winner. It's a positive song, encouraging the youth."
Kabilang na rito ang Open Arms ni Aiza Seguerra, which won as Best Acoustic Album, "Ikaw Ang Pangarap" as Song of the Year and Lovelife ni Boy Abunda as Compilation Album of the Year.
"I composed the song, 'Pinoy Ako,' yung kanta ng Orange and Lemons [for PBB]. I also composed 'Sikat Ang Pinoy' by Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby, and 'Kabataang Pinoy' for PBB Teen Edition, yung edition na sumali sina Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu.
"I also did the theme song for Star Circle Quest, Sharon, soap operas like Maria Flordeluna, Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. I produced Dahil May Isang Ikaw, Lovers in Paris, I did the arrangement, the mixing.
