Pinoy Box Office announces finalists of DigiTales 2

Seven short films have been chosen as finalists in the digital film competition sponsored by Pinoy Box Office, VIVA's 24-hour movie cable channel. The winners of DigiTales 2 will be announced on April 26.
Pinoy Box Office (PBO), VIVA Productions' movie channel on cable TV, announces the finalists to its DigiTales 2 film competition. These include Shorts by Seymour Barros Sanchez, Hiling by Patricia Lorraine C. Rosal, OFW - Ang Bagong Bayani o Baliw na Bayani by Noriel M. Jarito, Ambulancia by Richard Legaspi, ISA by Ronald Espinosa Batallones, Kwidaw by Roswill Hilario, and Walang Paraiso by Ivy Tayag Baldoza.
Now on its second year, DigiTales 2 is a digital film competition open to all amateur and professional digital filmmakers. Prizes are as follows: P20,000 for the third place winner, P30,000 for the second place winner and P50,000 for the grand prize winner. Winners will be announced on April 26.
In the first edition of PBO DigiTales held in 2006, six films were chosen as finalists, namely: Yayay by Jaypee Zuniga, Hinagap by Jose Luis Burgos, Misteryo ng Hapis by Mark de la Cruz, Sa Kabilang Dako ng Talahib by Adrian Abanilla, Rianne Soriano's Aninag and Lababo by Seymour Barros Sanchez.
The contest was judged by noted directors and top industry writers: Jay Altarejos (director of Lalake sa Parola, Ang Lihim ni Antonio and Posh), Robert Quebral (director of Sex Drive and Co-Ed Scandal), Gil Tejada (director of Encantadia, Bakekang, Maging Akin Ka Lamang, La Vendetta), Keith Sicat (writer/director of Rigodon), Benedict Mique (writer of Till I Met You, Co-Ed Scandal and Liberated), and Lex Bonife (writer of Lalake sa Parola, Ang Lihim ni Antonio).
DigiTales 2 is a project of PBO and VIVA Foundation for the Arts, with media sponsor VIVA Prime.
Pinoy Box Office can be seen in over 300 cable systems nationwide and in over 22 countries in the Middle East. In Metro Manila, PBO is enjoyed by cable subscribers of Destiny on Channel 36, CableLink on Channel 38, and on Dream DTH. The channel is the first cable offering of Viva Entertainment.
