The tandem of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, dubbed as KimXi, will get its big screen debut through the "self-help" romantic comedy film Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo.
The loveteam partners topbill this comedy movie based on the best-selling humor book by self-proclaimed "Internet action star" Ramon Bautista.
Kim Chiu and Xian Lim's first big screen team-up aims to depict a love story about "the ugly duckling in all of us and how we turn into someone worth loving."
Directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal with a script by Ramon Bautista himself and Carmi Raymundo, the writer of the box-office hit It Takes A Man And A Woman, the rom-com Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo will open in cinemas starting July 31, 2013.
After tackling family issues in its kick-off anniversary offering Four Sisters And A Wedding and the controversial connected tales of life, dream, and love in Skylight Films' upcoming drama movie offering Tuhog that will be shown nationwide this Wednesday (July 17), Star Cinema offers a film that everyone can relate to and learn from: moving on from a heart break, but with a funny twist!
In Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo, Kim Chiu has thick curly hair and thick eyebrows as she brings life to a brainy "ugly duckling" employee named Sandy Veloso. She is still reeling from the pain of being dumped by her ex-boyfriend Gardo (Kean Cipriano).
She breaks down when the new head of their company, Alex Prieto (Xian Lim), fires her from work. However, the boss realizes how much he needs Sandy when the other employees reveal her crucial role in the company.
After an interesting encounter, the rich and dashing CEO and the fashion-challenged assistant will find themselves sealing a deal—Sandy will help Alex learn the ropes for him to effectively run their company, while Alex helps Sandy learn to play the practical game of dating and relationships for her to get back with her ex-boyfriend Gardo (Kean) and not get her heart broken ever again.
Aside from Kim and Xian, Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo also stars Diane Medina, Jojit Lorenzo, Ryan Boyce, Lilia Cuntapay, Tonton Gutierrez, and the book author himself, Ramon Bautista.
Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo, which is part of the 20th anniversary offering of Star cinema, will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting July 31, 2013.
