After getting their big break via ABS-CBN's remake of Mara Clara, the popularity of Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes will soon be tested in the box office.
The two Kapamilya actresses will topbill Star Cinema's upcoming movie titled Way Back Home. Sam Concepcion and Enrique Gil are cast as the love team partners of Kathryn and Julia in this family drama.
Directed by Jerry Lopez-Sineneng, this film also stars Agot Isidro as the mother of Kathryn and Julia's characters.
In the movie, Kathryn portrays Ana Bartolome while Julia is cast as Jessica Santiago. They are sisters who have been separated for 12 years and grew up in totally different worlds.
Ana lived in a remote fishing village while Jessie had a comfortable life as a student from a well-to-do family. Their paths cross during a swimming competition. This paved the way for Ana to be reunited with her family.
However, Jessie begins to resent the attention lavished on her long-lost sister. As their relationship becomes even more estranged, Jessie's life is suddenly put in danger.
Will their family ever be whole again?
