Derek Ramsay replaces Sam Milby as leading man of Bea Alonzo in upcoming movie

Derek Ramsay (left) and Bea Alonzo (right) will be paired for an upcoming movie to be directed by Olive Lamasan.

Last November 9, Sam Milby announced that he will no longer be part of the primetime series Alta and an upcoming movie with Bea Alonzo. The actor gave up these two projects since he will be leaving for the United States to pursue his dream of starring in Hollywood projects.

As a result, Derek Ramsay has been chosen to replace Sam who was supposed to be the leading man of Bea Alonzo. The movie will be directed by Olive Lamasan.

Derek was quoted as saying in an interview with ABS-CBN News:

"'Yung pelikula ni Sam at Bea...I think Sam will venture sa Hollywood. Good luck, Sam!

"Ako ang pumalit so masaya ako na makakatrabaho ko ulit si Bea."

Derek has worked with Bea in ABS-CBN's fashion-serye, Magkaribal, and the 2009 movie And I Love You So.

The boyfriend of Angelica Panganiban has starred recently in two blockbuster movies: No Other Woman (also starring Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes) and Praybeyt Benjamin (topbilled by Vice Ganda).

The hunk actor hopes to do more film projects in 2012.

"I love doing movies," he emphasized. "So sana next year, more movies. After these two movies, na-realize ko talaga na mahal ko ang trabaho ko.

"I'm falling in love with my craft," says Derek.

Derek and Gerald are really the hottest guys around in ABS....na TNL.lol.....I think malaki offer ni Derek sa TV5, di yan lilipat kung ganun. mga nasa 100 million siguro contract nyan....sino naman tatanggi.....hes just making the right move....si Sam, mag Ha hollywood, he's goodlooking pero not exceptional enough to compete with the super hot guys of Hollywood, pangkaraniwan lang itsura nya once na maghollywood sya......im not being b.t.h.y, Im just being honest....na wag na lang syang umalis at ok na sya dito.....contentment is a virtue too.
