Star Record's Kris Aquino and Baby James We Are 1 album has climbed up and reigned the Astrovision/Astroplus local and overall ranking (as of June 22-29 data) up against many other international and local albums.
"Im so happy! Di ko akalain na may fans na si Baby James!" Kris enthused. This was tangibly confirmed when Kris and Baby James had their album signing in Trinoma recently. Hundreds of supporters with their We are 1 albums filled the cinema lobby of the said mall to have their copies signed by the mother and son tandem.
Aside from the We are 1, another album under Star Records has also penetrated the top selling albums in Astrovision. Willie Revillame's Ikaw Na Nga landed on the number two spot of the list. The Wowowee host's Giling-giling album also made it to the top three.
On the other hand, there's no stopping for Charice for her My Inspiration album landed number five in the overall count and number 4 in the local standing. The international singing sensation has proven that she does not only wow the foreign market but also her fellow Filipinos. This was seen during her first major solo concert, dubbed as Charice: The Journey Begins. The SMX Convention Center was filled to capacity last June 27, 2009 during the sold-out concert.
During the July 5 episode of ASAP '09, the young singer was given a Gold Record award for her latest album My Inspiration. This marks her second Gold Record award since her self-titled debut album has already sold 12,500 units.
