Juris's album, Now Playing, will soon be released in Southeast Asia

There are plans to release Juris Fernandez's 14-track album, Now Playing, in Southeast Asia. Watch Juris perform live at the Venice Piazza, Mckinley Hill, Taguig City on March 27 and at SM Bacoor on March 28.
Acoustic singer Juris Fernandez, who rose to prominence by being the vocalist of the acoustic act MYMP, is now busy promoting her album through a series of shows.
The said album promo tour, her first without former bandmate Chin Alcantara, is for Now Playing, her first album as a solo artist. This 14-track album is produced and released by her new record label, Star Records.
"Ok naman, masaya naman. Siguro yung effort lang ng pagpo-promote na I'm a solo artist na, yun lang siguro ang malaking adjustment for everyone," said Juris when asked how is her album promotion different now that she's gone solo. "But kung mga gigs naman at kantahan at tugtugan, 'di naman ako masyadong nanibago kasi I'm still with the band members. Except we have our new guitarist, so wala masyadong malaking adjustments. Ok lang."
During her March 19 performance at the Eastwood Mall Open Park, Juris gave the public a sample of her new sound. Veering away from her previous, more familiar signature performances as the MYMP vocalist, she sang cuts from Now Playing, starting with "I Love You Goodbye," the theme song of the Star Cinema movie of the same title.
"I Love You Goodbye," a bonus track, is the lone cover song in Juris' album. All the rest are original compositions by some of the biggest names in the industry like Ryan Cayabyab, Gary Valenciano, Jimmy Antiporda and Jungee Marcelo.
"Mabait sila lahat. Very down to earth," said Juris of her composers. "Very generous of what they know about music. Learning experience talaga sa akin yung mga nangyayari na'to."
She added: "Super very thankful [ako] and I feel so blessed and I feel really honored na naniwala po sila sa akin. Naniniwala silang maayos yung paggawa ko sa mga kanta nila."
In her Eastwood Mall show, she also sang "Opposites Attract," "Nandiyan Ka Lang Pala," and "Love Letters." When she performed "Di Lang Ikaw," the song that she co-wrote with Aiza Seguerra, audience members were already familiar with it since it is being used as the love theme for the ABS-CBN teleserye Rubi.
She ended her set with "I Don't Want To Fall," the carrier single of her album written by Cattski Espina. The video of this song is currently being aired on MYX.
Star Records Audio Promo Head Nixon Sy said Now Playing is performing well in the market, and is currently in the top 10 best-sellers of record chains Astroplus and Odyssey. He is positive it will gain Gold Record status in the next few weeks. He also revealed plans to release the album in Southeast Asia in partnership with S2S Singapore, just like what they did with Aiza Seguerra's album Open Arms.
After the Eastwood Mall show, Juris will perform at the Venice Piazza, Mckinley Hill, Taguig City on March 27 and at SM Bacoor on March 28.
