The undeniable chemistry between Zanjoe Marudo and Cristine Reyes in the teleserye Martha Cecilia's Kristine seems to have carried on in real life with both stars admitting to be closer to each other now more than ever.
After a few bumps in their friendship, Cristine admitted she has become more comfortable with her hunky leading man. Zanjoe is cast as Jaime while Cristine plays Jewel in ABS-CBN's primetime series.
"Ngayon mas nag-uusap na kami. Mas nabawasan yung hiya namin sa isa't-isa, siguro mas lalo na pag tumagal," said Cristine. When asked to name their favorite bonding activity, the actress said they both love deep conversations and trade jokes with the show's staff.
For his part, Zanjoe, revealed that he is very happy to be working with the actress dubbed by the Kapamilya Network as the Jewel of Romance.
"Maganda ang feedback, natawa ang tao. 'Yung Jewel-Jaime kasi ang atake namin cute na makulit at 'yung medyo naughty," explained Zanjoe.
In Martha Cecilia's Kristine, viewers started following Jaime and Jewel's love story, which began in an awkward yet amusing encounter on a bus. Despite starting on the wrong foot, the two seemed destined to see each other again and even ended up pretending to be husband and wife.
The program, which also topbills Rafael Rosell and Denise Laurel, registered ratings as high as 19.4 percent based on data from Kantar Media (formerly TNS). Viewers can expect more romance, suspense, and drama this week as Jewel and Jaime get entangled in a murder while Emerald (Denise) is caught between her love for Marco (Rafael) and her family.
