Martin Andanar replaces Luchi Cruz-Valdez as host of Dokumentado

Martin Andanar is the new host of TV5's Dokumentado, which airs every Wednesday night. The previous host, Luchi Cruz-Valdez, will host another investigative show on TV5 titled Journo.

Martin Andanar, TV5's male news anchor and Star Awards for Television's Best Male Newscaster of 2004 (for The Big News of then ABC 5), is the newest addition to the Dokumentado family.

He replaces Luchi Cruz-Valdez as the main host (who hosted the show from April 2010 until last week's episode, September 1).

Martin is honoured with his new responsibility as a broadcast journalist. "Being a part of this show is a great achievement for me, one of the milestones in my broadcasting career. That's why I will do my best to not disappoint the people who trusted me, who gave me this opportunity," he says.

"I hope I can live up to the expectations of the viewers," he added.

When asked to describe this TV5 show, he explains, "Dokumentado shows the viewers the actions behind the news camera. It is unapologetic and irreverent in a lot of ways. It shows the bad habits of politicians that PR people are paid to hide."

The Kapatid Network compares Dokumentado as the political counterpart of TMZ, a showbiz-oriented live-chat program in the United States.

Luchi Cruz-Valdez hands over the show to Martin because she will be hosting the new investigative journalism show Journo starting this September.

Dokumentado will feature new twists to the show by offering political blind items for viewers. It airs every Wednesday, at 10 pm, after Aksyon on TV5.
