"Nagso-sorry po ako. Humihingi po ako ng pang-unawa. Alam ko nararamdaman mo rin ‘yong nararamdaman ko. Nangyari din sa iyo noon ang nangyayari sa akin. Kung mas may nasasaktan ngayon, nawalan ng kredibilidad, ako po yun," pleaded Hope Centeno. She was addressing Kris Aquino—wife of her alleged lover, James Yap—in an interview with S-Files that aired last February 25.
When asked what she meant by her statement, she explained, "Nangyari din sa iyo [Kris] noon ang nangyari sa akin. Noong kay Ms. Alma [Moreno] 'tsaka Sir Joey [Marquez], sila pa rin naman noon, di ba? ‘Tapos iyong girlfriend ni James, buntis na noon, ‘tsaka naging sila [ni Kris]."
At the Maggi Magic Sarap launch last Tuesday, February 27, Kris slammed Hope's statement.
Kris asserted, "In-interview ko siya [Joey] noong hiwalay na sila ni Alma. Ang mali ko, hindi ko muna hinintay na ma-annul ang kasal nila." Kris and Joey hit it off after Kris interviewed Joey a few years back.
"Naroon si Joey, host siya ng show [S-Files], bakit hindi man lamang niya ako ipinagtanggol, alam naman niya ang totoo," added the TV host-actress.
Last night, February 28, at the YES! 7th anniversary party cum PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) launch held at the NBC Tent, The Fort, PEP asked Joey Marquez about his name being dragged in the issue.
"Ang comment ko lang siguro, ‘yong sinabi nung the other girl [Hope] na napadamay ‘yong pangalan ko doon," Joey clarified, "even before I met Kris, separated at nag-a-annulment na kami ni Alma. So malayong ihalintulad ang sitwasyon namin, 'yon lang."
The S-Files host said that he chose to go to his dressing room while Hope's interview was airing.
Joey explained, "As much as possible, believe it or not, hindi ko pinanood dahil ayoko nang may tatanungin sa akin. Para wala akong alam. Better to know nothing, [it's] safer."
