Nag-last shooting day kahapon, April 14, sa GMA compound, ang first-ever horror movie ng GMA Films (a co-production with Viva Films) na Ouija.
It will be the first full-length movie of Judy Ann Santos and Jolina Magdangal together. Nagkasama na sila noon sa Gimik The Movie, although guest star lang si Juday at sa bandang ending lang siya lumabas.
Ouija will be the first GMA Films movie na magkakaroon ng international screening. Ang siste lang, hindi Ouija ang gagamiting title sa international version nito, kung hindi Séance.
Invented by Charles Kennard, ang "ouija" ay halaw raw sa isang ancient Egyptian phrase that means "good luck." The word ouija is actually a combination of two yesses in two languages—French (oui) and German (ja).
Original inventor Kennard and partner Elijah Bond patented the word Ouija in 1890. In 1901, an employee of Kennard, si William Fuld, took over the production and sold the board with the patented name Ouija. Walang hindi idinemandang manufacturer si Fuld noon using the name Ouija. In 1966, his estate sold the rights to Parker Brothers, na may gawa rin ng mga board games na Monopoly, Cluedo and Trivial Pursuit.
Para maisawan ang anumang aberya sa copyright, minabuti ng GMA Films na hindi gamitin ang original local title nito when the film is distributed outside the country.
Originally, Ouija Board ang full title ng pelikulang isinulat ni Aloy Adlawan at idinirehe ng rising director na si Topel Lee. Kasama rin sa pelikula sina Iza Calzado at Rhian Ramos.
Sa July 25 ang showing ng Ouija locally.
