The MTV Philippines VJ Hunt 2007 is conducted every two years in the country. The celebrities short-listed for this year include Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition housemate Roxanne Barcelo (in photo) and former Wowowee co-host Kat Alano.

Sa June 22 (Friday) ay gaganapin ang finals night ng MTV Philippines VJ Hunt 2007 sa Music Hall ng SM Mall of Asia. Isa sa mga finalists dito ay ang dating Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity Edition housemate na si Roxanne Barcelo.

Napag-alaman ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Roxanne na nang malaman daw niyang may audition ang MTV Philippines for a new VJ, pumunta raw siya agad sa MTV office sa The Fort para mag-audition.

Suwerte na ngang matatawag ni Roxanne dahil out of hundreds of hopefuls, isa siya sa mapalad na nakasama sa Top 12 finalists na binubuo ng six boys at six girls. Bukod kay Roxanne, isang pang celebrity na kasama sa finalists si Kat Alano, na dating co-host ng noontime show na Wowowee.

Ayon kay Roxanne, minsan na rin daw siyang nag-audition for MTV four years ago. "But it's not the same search tulad ngayon. It's more for a normal VJ talaga. Pero at that time, I knew then na hindi pa talaga ako ready," sabi niya.

Manalo o matalo man si Roxanne ay masayang-masaya pa rin daw siya na nakasama siya sa 12 finalists. Naniniwala ang young actress-singer na being a finalist is already something.

Nilinaw ni Roxanne na wala raw conflict ang pagiging finalist niya sa MTV VJ Hunt sa pagiging VJ niya sa radio program na Morning Rush sa RX.

Napag-alaman din ng PEP kay Roxanne na wala na pala siya under the management of Boy Abunda, na naging manager niya magmula nang lumabas siya sa PBB house.

Naiintindihan din daw ni Roxanne kung bakit wala rin halos naibigay na project or regular show ang ABS-CBN sa kanya dahil desisyon din naman daw niya ang hindi pumirma ng kontrata under Star Magic.

"Pero siyempre, I'm still hoping na magkaroon pa rin ng shows or project. I still want to push through with my acting career aside from being a VJ, if ever," ang huling pahayag ni Roxanne.
