A radio serial-turned-movie starring the late Julie Vega in the '70s, Mga Mata ni Angelita, ay gagawing soap opera naman ngayon. Ito ay tungkol sa isang bulag na bata na binigyan ni Virgin Mary ng kanyang mismong mata para makakita at makatulong.
Nag-story conference ang soap opera last Tuesday, June 12, sa GMA-7.
Gaganap bilang Angelita ang child actress na si Kristal Reyes, na huling napanood sa primetime block ng GMA-7 as the young Kristal in Bakekang.
As first written here sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), makakasama ni Kristal sa Mga Mata ni Anghelita sina Marvin Agustin, Mark Herras, Paolo Contis, and Isabel Oli. Confirmed na rin na si Ms. Lucy Torres-Gomez ang gaganap sa role ng Virgin Mary.
Also in the cast are Ms. Celia Rodriguez, Sheryl Cruz, Carmina Villarroel, Inah Asistio, Beth Tamayo, Jess Lapid Jr., Pen Medina, Tuesday Vargas, Ryan Yllana, at ang nagbabalik-Kapuso na si Tonton Gutierrez.
Si Benedict Mique ang head writer ng soap, his first. This will be directed by the original tandem of Bakekang na sina Gil Tejada and Khryss Adalia.
This Saturday, June 16, ang first taping day ng Mga Mata Ni Anghelita sa Sta. Rita, Pampanga. Ito ang papalit sa Asian Treasures nina Robin Padilla at Angel Locsin when it ends this month.
