Walang panghihinayang si Bruce Quebral na hindi siya natuloy sa unang pelikula na dapat sana ay gagawin niya sa Regal Entertainment, ang Desperadas. Ang kapalit kasi nito ay ang bagong teleserye nila ng kasintahang si Wendy Valdez sa ABS-CBN, ang Margarita, na magsisimulang mapanood sa Lunes, July 30.
"Sobrang excited ako at talagang kinakabahan. Kasi, ‘yun nga, marami ring expectations sa amin ang tao. Sa amin na sobrang baguhan, talagang sobra kaming naka-focus kung ano ‘yung kailangan naming gawin para sa ikabubuti ng career namin," sabi ni Bruce sa panayam ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
Bagama't sa Lunes na ipalalabas ang Margarita ay noong nakaraang Martes, July 24, lang sila nagsimulang mag-taping. Ikinuwento ni Bruce na isa sa mga kinunang eksena ay ang bed scene nila ni Wendy.
"Medyo kinabahan din. Kasi si Direk Erick [Salud], siya ‘yung nagturo sa amin kung ano ang dapat gawin. Nagtawanan din kami ni Wendy kasi alam namin na sa trabaho naman ‘yon. Hindi namin na-feel kasi sa trabaho kami nakatutok," aniya.
Dahil unang sabak ni Bruce sa pag-arte ang Margarita, hindi ba siya nahirapan?
"Mga nakaka-take three or four [takes] ako," pag-amin niya. "Wow! Kasi hindi ko naman pinabayaan ‘yung mga workshops ko, kasi alam ko talaga na kailangan. Talagang tinututukan ko ‘yon."
Ngayong madalas na silang magkakasama ni Wendy, sa tingin kaya ni Bruce ay mas magiging maganda ang takbo ng relasyon nila?
"Sa tingin ko, mas magiging stronger. Kasi like nung nasa bahay [Pinoy Big Brother house], nagsusuportahan kami sa mga ginagawa namin. So, talagang we bring out the best in each other," sabi ng actor.
May major fight na ba sila?
"Wala," sagot niya. "Pag may misunderstanding, usap-usap lang. Parang sa loob ng bahay, usap-usap lang din."
Samantala, ngayong may projects na si Bruce sa ABS-CBN, nabayaran na ba niya ang pagkakautang niya sa dating girlfriend niya?
"Hindi pa," sagot niya. "Pero paunti-unti. Nag-start na akong magbigay sa kanya ng pera kahit konti. Alam naman niya ‘yung mga needs ng family ko kaya hindi rin niya ako pinu-push."
