Nag-walk out ang controversial actress na si Gretchen Barretto sa Saturday showbiz talk show ng ABS-CBN, ang Entertainment Live! noong Sabado, ika-23 ng Pebrero.
Nagulat na lang ang hosts ng talk show na sina Toni Gonzaga at Luis Manzano nang biglang tumayo sa kinauupuan niya si Gretchen habang nasa stage sila at pinapanood ang VTR tungkol sa maaanghang na pahayag ni Nadia Montenegro sa kolumnista na si Ogie Diaz through text, na lumabas sa Remate tabloid.
Dali-daling umalis si Gretchen palabas ng studio at hindi na tinapos ang VTR. Kaya pagbalik sa ere ng Entertainment Live! wala na doon si Gretchen.
Agad naman nagpaliwanag sina Toni at Luis sa sudden disappearance ni Gretchen, kahit pa nai-announce na nila na siya ang guest ng naturang show para sa segment na iyon. Kasunod nito ang paghingi ng paumanhin sa ere nina Toni at Luis sa audience.
Tinawagan ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang supervising producer ng Entertainment Live! at head ng Star Records promotions, si Roxy Liquigan, upang linawin ang isyu. (Star Records siyang nag-release ng Unexpected album ni Gretchen.)
Paliwanag ni Roxy, "Nagulat din kami, e. Prior to her guesting alam niya kung ano ang mga itatanong sa kanya, ano yung isyu na idi-discuss, and then magpo-promote siya ng album. Kaya walang set-up na nangyari or binigla siya sa mga mangyayari. Walang ganun.
"Hindi naman magagawa kay Gretchen yun.'Tsaka kami rin ang nagha-handle ng promo ng album niya kaya alam namin kung ano ang magaganap. Pina-approve rin namin sa kanya yung mga tanong, so, wala kaming inisip na magiging problema."
Nakausap din ng PEP ang road manager ni Gretchen na si Bettina Aspillaga sa telepono right after na makausap namin si Roxy. Katatapos lang that time ng mall show ni Gretchen sa SM Marilao, Bulacan.
Kinumpirma ni Bettina ang mga sinabi ni Roxy na aware si Gretchen sa mga itatanong sa kanya pati na ang isyu sa kanila ni Nadia. Subalit hindi in-expect ni Gretchen na magiging ganun kadetalye ang paglalarawan sa nangyaring away nila ni Nadia.
Ayon kay Bettina, "But what prompted Gretchen para umalis is yung masyadong pagkaka-detalye nung away nila ni Nadia. She wasn't expecting that it will be too detailed. Nagulat din siya sa mga sinabi ni Nadia na inilabas nila. Hindi niya alam yun. That was the first time na nalaman niya na may sinabi si Nadia na ganun.
"When she saw that, she said, ‘I don't like this.' Saka siya nag-walk out. Parang sa kanya kasi, okey lang na ma-discuss si Nadia sa kanya pero ayaw niya yung masyadong detailed.
"Parang it rolled back the emotions again sa gap nila ni Nadia. Okey na siya, e, after nakapag-usap sila ni Nadia last Wednesday. Pero nung napanood niya yun, parang nanumbalik ulit yung pain, which parang sa tingin ko she doesn't want. S'yempre ‘pag galit ka. baka kung ano ang masabi niya. Maybe she doesn't want to be in a place na parang she's not comfortable.
"But right now, she's okey na. Katatapos lang niyang mag-mall show and she looks happy naman sa naging reaction ng crowd sa kanya sa SM Marilao. She even granted an interview for The Buzz after her [mall] show," paliwanag ni Bettina.
Nakarating na rin kay Gretchen ang paghingi ng paumanhin ng Entertainment Live! sa kanya at maluwag naman itong tinanggap ni Gretchen. Sa kabila nito, matatagalan pa raw bago pumayag ulit si Gretchen na mag-guest sa nasabing showbiz talk show.
