Inamin ni Regine na siya ang unang nagpahiwatig na gusto niyang gawin ang Betty La Fea. "But actually, before Betty La Fea," sabi ni Regine, "I was offered another show, but I can't say which show. Ito yung mga time na ito except...Itong month lang na ito.
"But even before Betty, may ino-offer sila sa akin na isang material talaga na bagay din sa akin. Pero hindi ko gagawin kasi ginagawa ko na yun sa kabila. So, sabi ko, huwag na muna," kuwento pa niya.
ABS-CBN & GMA-7. Ano ngayon ang relasyon niya sa ABS-CBN at GMA? May mensahe ba siya na gusto niyang iparating sa dalawang networks?
"Wala akong job!" natatawang sagot ni Regine.
Pero nagseryoso siya ulit at sinabing, "I was very, very grateful and very, very flattered to ABS-CBN that they think of me every time that may gagawin silang show. Meron pa rin silang na-offer sa akin. That's very flattering kahit alam nila na nasa GMA ako.
"Hindi ko alam kung ano yung pampa-pirate. Basta ako, sa akin lang, I got interested in this work, in this job, which is Betty La Fea. I really, really want to do it. Kaya po ako nagpaalam sa GMA at kaya po kami nag-iyakan last Sunday because that was my last show.
"Dahil po sa maganda naman ang pakikitungo sa akin ng ABS-CBN, nagpapasalamat ako sa kanila. Wala po akong masasabing masama sa ABS-CBN. Like I said, I'm very flattered na in-offer nila ito sa akin and kapag may mga special, they would always ask me. Siyempre, nagpapaalam muna ako sa GMA kung papayagan ako. Pero napa-flatter po ako doon, and I thank you very much for keeping me.
"But at the same time, taos-puso rin akong nagpapasalamat sa GMA kasi they took good care of me and like I said, the decision I've made before is very hard for me to do.
"Hindi ko ginamit ang ABS para magpataas ng presyo, but because of what's been going on right now... "So, sa akin lang, parang I assume that they're no longer interested. Ang dami na kasing lumalabas and, also, wala na ring kumukontak sa amin. And it's not fair to GMA na I left them hanging like that, kasi meron din naman silang offer," madamdaming pahayag ni Regine.
For the last time, inulit ang tanong kay Regine regarding sa P25 million offer daw sa kanya ng ABS-CBN.
"Like I said, hindi kami umabot sa 25 million kasi wala pa pong offer. Walang ganun. Thirty lang!" biro ulit ni Regine kasabay ang malakas na tawa.
So, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin malinaw kung lilipat nga ba o hindi sa ABS-CBN si Regine.
