The academe-based Gawad TANGLAW or Gawad Tagapuring mga Akademisyan ng Aninong Gumagalaw has given out the medals for the winners of the sixth edition of this annual honor list. The Testimonial Night took place at the Carlos Palanca Auditorium of the University of Perpetual Help-Las Piñas in Alabang, Zapote, Las Piñas City.

Instead of handing out trophies, the jury members of Gawad TANGLAW gave out glass medals for the winners who were feted with a simple ceremony last Saturday, March 1. The jury, headed by Dr. Jaime Ang, is composed of 24 academicians who come from schools all over the country and even one based in Saudi Arabia.

Gawad TANGLAW chose ABS-CBN as the Best Station for 2007. The Kapamilya Network received a total of 19 medals, while sister station Studio 23 got one medal for Y Speak in the category Best Public Affairs.

GMA-7 won four awards: Best Documentary Special for Philippine Agenda, Best Public Service Program for Wish Ko Lang, Best Documentary Program for Reporter's Notebook. The Kapuso Network's Vicky Morales was named Best TV Anchor, along with Julius Babao, Korina Sanchez, Karen Davila, Ces Drilon, and Henry Omaga Diaz of ABS-CBN.
