Former Tabing-Ilog star Paula Peralejo accomplished one feat that only a few people can do—graduate with honors. The younger sister of Rica Peralejo graduated magna cum laude at University of the Philippines yesterday, April 26.

Congrats though I'm not impressed since a degree in Philosophy( even with honor) is not difficult to achieve. I'm not bragging but it's the truth as compared to other courses

cguro ibig sabihin ni wilyam by non-quota e hindi sya popular course, kasi tayong mga pinoy sa pagpili ng course ang iniisip yung magiging trabaho after graduation second na lang yung interest. cguro ngayon madami ng kukuha ng philosophy. actually philosophy madami ka ring makukuhang trabaho dyan unlike kung compsci ka for ex limited ka lang dun sa napagaralan mo. opinion lang po. nasa determination pa rin naman ng tao yan. as for sa mga artista na hindi nakatuntong ng college.. ang mga ito e mga breadwinner ng family nila kaya sinasantabi muna ang studies.

It doesnt matter what your course is. The fact that Paula graduated from college is something to be proud of. And from UP (the best university in the country, no doubt) at that!

Respond to post #16: The course is a study of world history and local, geography, hospitality, culture, human interest, airline operation, foreign language and business management.

With regards to what type of job you can get, it all depends on what you want to do.... as like anything else, we have teachers that are working as domestic helpers, engineers working as company drivers, and so forth..... so in respond to #18 a generalization that a "tourism graduate" only works as a "tourist guide" or "alalay" is a sign of ignorance.

Kahit ano pa ang course mo, to be able to graduate with honors in UP is an achievement! I am not sure exactly kung ano ang general weighted average ng magna...but if i get it right, higher than 1.5 ang GWA mo.... para sa akin, ang galing mo pa rin...

Mahirap ata ang Philosophy. When i was in studying in Letran it was our Father Rector who taught us the course for 2 sems. In fairness, tlagang kailangan magaling ang analytical and logical mind mo sa subject na ito plus kailangang maayos at magaling ang English grammar mo! Kaya to Paula, im so impressed! yabang naman ng mga 'to...kelangan pa ba nyang kumuha ng BS molecular biology para masabi ninyo na pang brainy yung course? Lahat naman ng studies ginagamitan ng utak eh, ultimo pagdumi mo kelangan mo rin magconcentrate..PEACE!
