Writer-TV host-manager Lolit Solis signed her Statement of Retraction early this evening at the Manila City Hall, stating she had no factual basis when she wrote the report that she saw Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual expressing unusual "sweetness" to each other by the poolside of a hotel in Manila. Sam and Piolo in turn, signed an Affidavit of Desistance, which formally withdraws their libel suit against Lolit.

Nakatanggap ng text message ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) from Star Magic Head PR Rikka Dylim tungkol sa latest na kaganapan sa kaso na isinampa last year nina Sam Milby at Piolo Pascual laban sa TV host-manager-columnist na si Lolit Solis.
Matatandaang nagdemanda sina Sam at Piolo bilang reaksyon sa isinulat ni Lolit sa kanyang column na "Take It! Take It!" na lumabas sa Pilipino Star na nagsasabing nakita niyang magkasama sina Piolo at Sam sa poolside ng Sofitel Hotel at nagpapakita sila ng kakaibang "sweetness" sa isa't isa.
Ipinahayag naman nina Piolo at Sam na ang kailangan lang nila ay ang retraction o pagbawi ni Lolit sa mga isinulat nito at sabihing walang katotohanan ang mga pinagsusulat tungkol sa kanila, at kakalimutan na nila ang isinampa nilang kaso dito.
Naging matigas naman si Lolit noon at sinabing paninindigan niya ang mga isinulat sa kanyang column.
Last week lang nang mapabalita na binisita raw nina Piolo at Sam ang DOJ (Department O Justice) kasama ang kanilang lawyer na si Atty. Joji Alonso para makasiguradong malilitis nang patas ang isinampa nilang kaso. Nabalitaan nilang diumano'y may connections sa loob ng DOJ si Manay Lolit. Pinabulaanan naman ito ni Lolit sa mismong show niya Startalk noong Sabado.
Pero heto nga't kanina lang ay may panibagong development sa kaso.
Ayon mismo sa ipinadalang text message ni Ms. Dylim:

With this, piolo and sam sgd an afidavit of desistance. [Good evening. Just came from Manila City Hall. Ms. Lolit signed her Statement of Retraction—There is no factual basis for my article, which came out on October 12, 2007. I am extremely sorry for dragging the names of Sam and Piolo. Sam, Piolo, I am sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I caused. Separate undertaking, no more talking about Sam and Piolo or this incident. With this, Piolo and Sam signed an Affidavit of Desistance.]"
Ipinalabas na nga kanina sa 24 Oras ang media coverage ng pirmahan sa Manila City Hall kaninang 7 pm, nina Sam, Piolo, at Lolit, kasama ang kani-kanilang lawyers. Present din sa pirmahan ang isa pang involved sa kaso na si Ms. Veronica Samio.
Ayon pa kay Ms. Dylim nang tawagan ng PEP para sa additional na impormasyon, sa pagpirma nina Sam at Piolo ay pormal na nilang iniurong ang demandang isinampa nila laban sa beteranong manunulat-TV host-manager at sa entertainment editor ng Pilipino Ngayon na si Ms. Samio.
Nang tanungin ng PEP kung nakita niya bang nagyakapan sina Sam, Piolo, Manay Lolit at Tita Vero bilang simbolo na nagkapatawaran na sila, sumagot ang Star Magic Head PR na hindi raw niya napansin kung nagyakapan nga. Ang nakita niya lang ay ang pagkakamay ng mga ito matapos magpirmahan.
As of this writing ay kino-contact pa rin ng PEP si Lolit para sa kanyang pahayag tungkol sa kagaganap lang na pirmahan.
