May natanggap na text message ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) mula sa publicist ng ABS-CBN Star Magic na si Ms. Rikka Dylim tungkol sa considered top artist ng Kapamilya Network at ng Star Magic na si Piolo Pascual.
Kaugnay ito ng 6th Edition of the Paris Cinema International Film Festival na magaganap mula July 1 hanggang July 12. The festival was initiated and supported by Paris City Hall. Pinamumunuan ito ng actress na si Charlotte Rampling.
According to the official website of the French Government Tourist Office, since it started last 2007, the festival gets stronger each year. Last year, 247 films from over 35 countries were shown to the public, with 150 celebrities from all over the world in attendance.
Ilan sa mga sikat na celebrities na naimbitahan na at naging bahagi ng Paris Cinema IFF ay sina Juliette Binoche, Orlando Bloom, Jackie Chan, Johnny Depp, Jean Rochefort, Tim Roth, Oliver Stone, at Robin Wright Penn.
Nakasaad sa natanggap na text message ng PEP na si Piolo ang isa sa mapalad at kauna-unahang Pinoy artist na naimbitahan ng prestigious festival sa Paris. Narito ang eksaktong text message na ipinadala ni Ms. Dylim.
"Important announcement! Star Magic is proud to inform that for the first time, the Festival Paris Cinema 2008 6th Edition has invited a Filipino artist to grace the event. Piolo Pascual was invited as early as last March by Mayor Delanoe and Charlotte Rampling to the festival on July 2-4. Piolo will be the first artist invited to represent the Philippines !"
This year, after honoring South Korea in 2006 and Lebanon in 2007, the Paris Cinema IFF will be honoring the Philippines.
